It's been a while since I have been on the forum. I have spent the last 3 hours catching up on all the talk here.

I am having back problems. Nothing new. I have had this most of my life. I haven't been on my bike since "The LongeST Day" ride, which was the middle of April. In fact, my back went out for good the weekend of CheapSToc. I had debated on going and at the last minute decided not to go. Wise decision Grasshopper.

Four trips to the chiropracter didn't help. Saw my regular doc. Had an MRI. Three bulging discs, which I knew about from a MRI years earlier. They did find a tear at L5-S1 with narrowing of the spinal canal. Saw a back surgeon. I don't need surgery. I am going to see a "Pain Specialist" the 17th. In all probability, I will have steroid injections at the tear site. The thought of that makes me nauseas.

I can't ride my bike. Hell, I can barely stand to drive. I can't play golf. I WANT TO GO BACK TO WORK (Something I never thought I would say). I have to take prescription meds just to sleep.

I just had to vent.

Thanks, Max

Max, sorry to hear all this. Can't help with the immobility or the pain, but just know we're all hear for ya. No, it's not misspelled.

Take a break. It'll all come together one way or another.

Thanks guys. I'm not feeling sorry for myself. I'm just tired of waiting two weeks here, two weeks there, for the docs to decide what to do.

At least I can walk.

Sorry for your condition. I don't have back problems, but I can surely feel your pain.
Have you seen any of the inversion machines ? Basically, you hang upside down for a period of time to help decompress the discs in your back. I've never tried it, but intuitively, it seems like a good idea.
Best of luck to you
