I owned an '06 "A" model V-Rod. Bought it with 4000 miles on the clock. Installed a 5 gal. tank (3.7 was stock at the time), a HD Sundowner seat, HD hard bags and rode it for a bit over 5000 miles. In that 5000 miles I spent $2200.00 on engine work (dropped a valve seat) and HD replaced the computer (nearly $1000 by itself). Loved the look and the ride. Not much in the handling department compared to the ST but was comfortable for me. Straight line performance is on par with a ST1300. The fork rake makes for a very long turning radius and straight line stability. It's still the best looking and smoothest Harley.
