You might also want to look at Legal Speeding's HARD system (http://www.legalspeeding.com/products.htm#HARD); they've lowered their price to $99.

I tired the HARD system a number of years ago, and was disappointed. Mainly with battery life. Under the best of conditions, it didn't last long enough. And since you had to manually turn it on and off, it was really easy to leave the receiver turned on when you weren't riding, which would kill the battery even faster. Also too easy to forget to turn it on, and not have a warning when you needed it.
