I just found this link, but would like to respond. I bought Dana's 2004 ST from his son, Ryan, in June (about 10 months after his passing). His son doesn't ride and had already sold the Ducati, but still had the BMW. Ryan said that the accident occurred when an inexperienced Harley rider failed to negotiate a curve, dropped the bike which slid into the opposing lane and struck Dana head-on. The bike bounced up and hit him in the chest. I didn't know Dana, but from the way he took care of his motorcycles (the ST looked brand new), I can tell that he really enjoyed riding.
