Hey all! New member here hailing from Vancouver Island, Canada. Just got back onto the street again with my new (to me) '03 ST with the usual amenities, cruise, heated grips, riser and a Givi trunk which is in the basement for now. Already getting my hands on it to get familiar with things considering my last ride was a '84 Nighthawk 750SCE (the blue one) which wasn't shy about showing eveything. The ST is a little more reserved what with all the "tupperware" concealing most mechanical elements from sight. Either way I am thoroughly impressed not only with the amazing reliability record and high mile ST's out there, but also with the handling capabilities of a 700+ LB motorcycle. Can't wait to get some good miles down!

Hi, I am the 2nd owner of a black1998 ST1100 with under 17,000 miles that does not have a single scratch. I would like to post it for sale, but it looks like I must have a post approved prior to doing so. Please let me know if by posting this I will be able to post in the bike for sale category.

Thanks,
Cary

Heellloooo, my name is Scott and I found this site while I was looking into any potential problems with the ST1300. I'm from Salem, OR and I've been riding dirt bikes for 40 years and street bikes for about 17 years. I currently have a 2008 CBR1000RR and want to buy a black ST for extended rides.

Hello - Not really an ST owner, but I have a '01 ST1100 on extended/indefinite loan from a friend of mine in exchange for fixing it up and getting it road worthy after sitting in her garage for many years. I'll be using it as a main ride while I work on my other bikes this summer, and testing it out as a two-up platform for me and my daughter. But for now, I'll be picking your brains to help me get it working right again!

Thanks!
Cam

Hi all,

Great forum!

Just got myself a 1990 ST1100 after deciding I'm too old to ride GSXRs. In love with my Pan!

Thanks,

WelshDave!
Welcome to the forum from Cornwall UK! I sold my FZR and decided to join the grown-ups last year at age 64! Hope you enjoy your Pan as much as I like mine. PS used to live in Porthcawl in the 1960s and was up there visiting friends at Easter on the Pan!

Welcome from Northumberland UK Dave of the Welsh variety. I'm guessing WetWelsh Variety this morning.
Enjoy your 11.
Please check out the RAN list on the riding drop down just in case you can offer a garage and a biscuit to a passing rider in distress, or just in need of choccy bics.
Enjoy your riding when the rain stops.

Hi,

I've had a couple of years away from two-wheels, primarily a financial thing... I was a DR (seven years) in London/Home Counties back in the 80's & 90's, a couple of CX500's, then a couple of Kwak GT750's before getting a company 'Bike, which was my introduction to the ST1100.. My first one did over 220,000 miles - although it was mechanically rattling a little toward the end.. Ridden virtually every day of the year regardless of the weather mechanically they were always bomb-proof.

I recently bought a CX500 Eurosport (a trip down memory-lane) but quickly realised that what I really need was another 'Pan... I've pretty limited space in my garage; so can anyone tell me how wide an ST1100 is across the panniers, and also across the mirrors/bars?? I seem to remember that when filtering in traffic the mirrors/bars were about the same width... thinking about it, if anyone can also include the height to the underside of the mirrors & bars as well that would be a great help - I have to fit the thing in between two work benches - the 'Eurosport' fits, but with not much wiggle-room; so I suspect I may have to re-jig my workshop/garage... but then an ST was always surprisingly manageable in traffic, so maybe they are a little narrower than I am thinking!!

Thanks in advance....

Rich D.
