Heated gear is your(my) friend.....I rode some the great SE Missouri roads yesterday. My Yamaha Tracer 900 GT loves the brisk weatherNOTHING! Started it...looked at it...then turned it off. 37 degrees outside!!!
That's still good riding weather. If your Yamaha can't handle 37F, then try a BMW. Thursday, it was 32F and a very enjoyable ride.NOTHING! Started it...looked at it...then turned it off. 37 degrees outside!!!
Bahaha......bike can handle those temps. But....not me. 50 degrees is my starting low. Not gonna BUY all that heated stuff. I OWN a SUV w/a heater. ;-)That's still good riding weather. If your Yamaha can't handle 37F, then try a BMW. Thursday, it was 32F and a very enjoyable ride.

Once you buy a heated jacket liner and gloves you will wonder why you wasted a lot of the best riding time. I ride in the St Louis winter 20 degree temps all winter as long as the roads are clear. No battery tender needed. That's still good riding weather. If your Yamaha can't handle 37F, then try a BMW. Thursday, it was 32F and a very enjoyable ride.

NO loss to me. Warm in SUV......safe from elements......and feeling fine! Ahhhhh........Your loss.
It's like riding in the rain. Dress for it, and it can be wonderful.
I bought some heated gear bits I'm very happy with. One of those bits is a mug warmer on the kitchen counter for my hot chocolate when the thermometer reads 50º. Put my feet up and read a book. Pass the marshmallows please. Not gonna BUY all that heated stuff.
