Broke out my 81 Yamaha QT50 (Yamahopper) I have it hopped up. 60cc, bigger carb., no air box with Uni filter, Goes 35 to 40 mph on the flats. Got it kick started, and rode it around. Got to go back in the carb and drop the main one size. I swear the jetting changes with 20 degrees of temp change.

Here's a Youtube of some QT's set up like mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKlrygX31Fo

Yesterday, did a valve check on the '07 FJR, new coolant, serviced air cleaner, fresh oil and filter, little bit of spit and polish, general checkup for the next owner. Getting her ready to go out the door to make way for the new '14.

The UPS guy just dropped off my new Russell Day Long seat. Had to try it on. I'll get the heating element wired up tomorrow.
Sunbrella top in slate gray with vinyl sides.

The folks at Russell Cycle Products (http://www.day-long.com/) were great, answering questions quickly during what must be the busiest time of year for them. I'm planning a ride along the Columbia river to test out my first Day Long seat. My butt has been looking forward to this for many years.

What was the total time you were without your seat?

Thanks for your pie suggestions and a fun ride, ff. Your Yamaha almost converted me to the FJR faith. ;)

Nice ride Kendoo! :)

BTW, there are many new 2016's that are coming up with the 'Check Engine' light staying on. They have high counts of errant 'kickstand down' codes found by the dealers. Appears a bug in the software (which no doubt Yammie will fix at some point).

Thanks! I'll store that in what's left of my short term memory should I get a code. I'm not usually a first model year kind of guy, but this isn't much different than the other Gen3. I don't usually buy new either, but the lure of the 6-speed and LED lighting sucked me in. Lol
