I am planning to put in the Rostra cruise control unit over this winter. One forum article here mentions using the Goldwing right side stop/start/cruise swith assy. That is obviously a neater looking install.
I looked up the part numbers for various years on the GL1800.
Early years ('03-'04 I think) show a different part number 35013-MCA-505 for $123.

Later years ('05-) show 35130-MCA-H01 for $150.

In the exploded diagrams you cannot see the switch face, but it looks similar on the outside. The later year shows more small pieces and wiring on the inside.
Does anyone know if there is any functional difference between these two, i.e. will either one work, or is there an advantage to using one instead of the other?
I can figure out the wiring if the colors are different.
