I'm aware of the kit and that it works well. @SupraSabre installed one too.

The issue is it get's pricey with the Cdn exchange. Part and shipping is about CDN$300, then add in 15% sales tax plus an unknown amount in duty.

Poor STella's been a money hog this Summer and she still needs more items added to her to do list ( like an SMC.)

Is that splined gear a plastic piece?
I seem to recall it is, and the replacement (Bikequip is it?) makes his kit of metal?
Either way, it's more cash out.

I have a file in STL format for a 3D printed gear, however it won't let me post it here because the forum software does not a recognized the file extension.
I tried changing the extension to JPG but the forum wasn't fooled.
If anyone is interested PM me.

No real snags. It was a bit fiddly getting everything adjusted correctly so both sides are even. Read the directions thoroughly, then read them again. I used a compound ratcheting ferrule crimper similar to this one https://a.co/d/9NFjYKU
