Re: ST Available Tires - Canada
Mellow et al - thanks for all the good info on ST1300 tire availability. I am getting due for new shoes for my 1300 so began checking local suppliers. The only success I had in Calgary was one BT020F front tire and an offer to ship the rear tire in from eastern Canada. My quote was for a total of C$375 (plus GST of course)(not sure if that covered shipping either).
Just for the HOI, I checked into the Two Brothers web site and found BT020F Battlax tires (my preferred) on sale for US$227 total, with delivery in US included. Figured since I was headed south to my Whitefish cabin anyway, I'd have then delivered there and bring them home using my cross-border purchasing allowance. Tried to order by internet, but the difference between the Canadian billing address and US delivery address threw the system off kilter, so used the old fashioned telephone instead.
An obviously handsome, talented young man took the order on July 19th and by the time I arrived at suppertime on July 21, UPS was heaving the two new tires onto my deck. Talk about quick, super service.
In case any of my fellow Canadians are having the same trouble locating tires of their choice, I can attest that this outfit works, and even if you can't pick them up over the border as I did, their $50 export costs should keep the costs very competitive.:bow1:
