Like us,,, turkeys are normally pretty smart and wary.
But, when spring weather comes... and like us... certain 'hormones' take over and all sense is lost!
Ten feet tall and bulletproof!!!

I was enjoying a rather twisty section of the Great River Road here last week and was made alert by 4 different groups of turkeys within just a few miles. Just around a corner every time. Each group was a tom strutting for his harem of 5-6 ladies. It could be worse ... they could just as easily be groups of deer. This is the toll we pay to enjoy quiet country roads.

I took one in the windsheild just north of Tupper Lake a few years ago doing 50 mph. Feathered everyone riding behing me and bent my windshield backwards. And now my record is one turkey, one dear, shunk and a racoon and something I hit in Idaho (have no idea what that was but sure had a lot of blood on the bike)
