While on a trip on the way to Bob's memorial gathering I found a great place in the National Forest to camp for free. It is about 2-3 miles down Cathey's Creek Rd (turns into dirt forest road) on the north side of Highway 64 west of Brevard (35 deg 13' 16.8" N 82 deg 47' 55" W). A nice flat camping site with two fire pits and enough room for 15 tents.

But the best feature was the stream with two waterfalls only a few feet from my tent.

If you are in the area and camping, this site will be hard to beat.

Nice! What tires are they on the ST? I need some for my Vstrom and am leaning toward the PR4's due to 95% street riding, but I am still entertaining ideas.

I run Hideneau K60s and love them. They are 50/50 tires and would be overkill for on pavement riding only.

I love it!

Which might be in part fueled by my current addiction of watching "Long Way Down". I just finished the "Long Way Round" yesterday and started the second one. I can't believe I have never seen them before. The wife commented last night that I was sitting there watching the tablet with a smile on my face... Great show(s).

You have captured that same feeling I get from the show, I'm now smiling, thank you for sharing and I hope I can get there someday.

Beautiful!! Man I miss moto camping. We're both working a bunch right now, which is temporary thankfully. Gotta ask, what's the tent? Beautiful S10 as well, those K60s really look the part.

The tent is a Hilleberg Akto. I have made an effort to downsize and streamline my camping gear. I wish I had bought a Hilleberg first as I would've actually been money ahead. I have gone from two-man tents to the behemoth Redverz to three man tents and now happily to a one-man tent. They are expensive but very nice tents.

I just finished The Long Way Down. Great series. Where did you find The Long Way Around? Looked on iTunes and couldn't find it.

Netflix has them both on streaming.
