IA: Tag

Checked out the Duke's museum today, didn't even know it was there. Thanks to the tag game now I do! For those who know the rules, can a person move a tag if they were the last one to move it but it was last year?

Here's the rules:
1 - active Tag thread per State, Province or Country, if that makes sense (The first characters of the thread must be the state, province or country code)

2 - Ride to the current tag and take a pic of your bike at that location.

3 - Ride to a new tag location and take a pic of your bike at that location.

4 - Post both the old -tagged - and new picture to complete the process.

5 - Repeat tags are not allowed during the current calendar year.

6 - You can't move your own tag.

7 - Old photos taken before the current tag should not be used, this is not easily enforceable so please respect all the participants and only post pictures you've taken after the current tag.. This is a riding contest after all, not a photo contest.

No prizes, just some fun.

Looks like it essentially resets each year, so last year's tags are fair game. Go for it.

Bill

Well alright, thanks.

And to add confusion to the rules, the A to Z Game does allow the same person who set the last tag to set the next one IF IT HAS NOT BEEN MOVED FOR OVER A MONTH.
There is a poll on this game (original tag game where-in this post that you are reading resides) that asks the question if that same rule may be implemented here. But the leaning in the poll is that it should not and no changes have been mentioned that I know of.

BTW- Which photo is the new tag? The Steak House & Saloon, or the windmill? Based on your statement I am guessing the former but would like confirmation please.

Hi Bob, I left the tag at the Twisted Tail steak house. A little good riding in the area, good food there too.

A little confirmation for me now, what I'm taking from your post is that the poll leaned towards in the Tag game tags stay where they are until someone else moves them. Regardless of how long it takes? Either way is fine by me, just curious.

Yep, that's the way the poll is leaning. I didn't read all the posts in that poll thread but the poll results seemed rather significant that a majority favored keep things as they are.

Will have to ride out there sometime just for lunch. I do want to go camping up at Willow Lake county campground sometime. It's a nice little campground and just NW of the steakhouse. Rode through that area many times.

It is embarrassing to report that the MD tag stayed stuck for over 800 days at one point. Seems the original players left the game for whatever reason and no new ones came along for a while.

Pick a place that is (a) enjoyable to get to and (b) not inaccessible to players passing through and you will find it gets picked up from time to time. Kendoo and nerSteve and Ziamon are all known to play in other state's sandboxes... :)

Well somebody needs to come along and move this Nebraska tag! haha I thought about leaving it at Willow Lake, you're right it is a nice place.

NE tag!?! You do know that a state tag has to stay within that same state? NE tags stay in NE. But you can ride over and move it someplace else in NE.

LOL Yes I get that, reading what I said I see the confusion. I was talking about two different tags, I thought about leaving the Iowa tag at Willow Lake. :)

Great day for a ride.

Haha... sorry, Kevin. Saw you were posting, saw Beebeetown and thought I was in the WI tag thread.:

There is a Beetown in WI, I've been through it a number of times.

Edit: Twisted Tail shows to be east of L34 on 335th. I'll put it on my list. How's the pork tenderloin? :)

Darn, I was just about to move the tag on my way back from WeSToc. It may be a while until I can get up there again.

It is at the intersection of L34 and 335th (I had 350th, poor memory). Google Maps has it in the wrong spot. They have done some facial upgrades, so much so, street view is outdated. It was late afternoon and I was headed to my Daughters in Council Bluffs, so no food reviews. Can say L34 was the best road I was on ALL day.

I guess you need to stay closer to Prairie du Chien for better roads. Some real nice ones south of Mac Gregor and north of Marquette. Which BTW is where the this tag was placed. I pass through there anyway so took some advice to move it  . Can see it from the river bridge.

Old tag is Pinky the pink elephant which is now owned by Marquette and has some notoriety per the plaque.

And the new tag is this:

Should be an easy find. But just in case here's a clue: In one of the tags is a place that is very much like what is in the other. One floats, the other doesn't. OK, 2 clues.

Another visit with the relatives Kevin?
Did you ride the Elevator? I went to HS in that town so know the place well. Just don't get in that area much any more.
