Tracer 900 GT

I did go from a vstrom to a super ten for almost 50k miles, and it was tough seeing it go because it was a great bike...while the tracer is nice, quick and light, the jury is out on it being as good of a touring bike as the super t.
 
That's an fj-09 so while close, not exactly the tracer-900-gt, but a good way to get something real close.

You're right Mellow..FJ-09 not Tracer GT. my mistake. Looks the same to me except color of forks.

He dosen't know if the MT-10 is going to make as good of a sport- tourer, but that cross plane R-1 derived engine is awesome and sounds even better. Lousy seat and gas mileage though.
 
I was looking seriously at the Super Ten before I got my ST1300, based in no small part to Paul Pelland ("Long Haul Paul") and the insane amount of miles that he's put on two Super Teneres with crazy low maintenance.
 
I was looking at Fortnines review of the Super Tenere on youtube, I'd never intend to do much off road apart from green laning and maybe a forest road but it handled the rough terrain very well for a big heavy bike,carries it's weight low bit like the ST1100,
Hopefully going to get a test ride on a tracer tomorrow. I have a feeling that the super tenere will suit me better given my height 6'1" and I'm about 245lbs, the vstrom 650 is a big bike frame wise and it suits me, if it had about 25-30 hp more it would be perfect.
 
I was wandering around the countryside yesterday and met a fellow triple person at one stop. He told me all about the Tracer and was tickled to actually see one in person. It was he first time I ever met someone who knew what it was.
 
Decided to add some clips and mini-bungees to my lids to help utilize that space for lightweight stuff.

The clips are pretty lightweight so probably will break if a lot of pressure is used on the bungees but they should be good

enough for gloves and small misc items. I'm going to get a divider made for the left bag so things don't fall out

when you open the bag.

I decided to move my Denali lights from the sides of the radiator area to the handguards... it's not pretty and I'm looking at some better looking LED strips that allow dual intensity or DRL and signal functions... but for now, they work well and are very effective.

Early today (yesterday actually) I saw a little BMW adventure type bike headed my way. He had some white conspicuity lights (they made provide rider-useable illumination at night) mounted low on the frame (?) in front of the cylinder heads. They weren't really bright but they stood out very well against the myriad of lights pointed my way.

What caught my attention was their low position and that they weren't jiggling as I've seen on fork mounted lights. Looked really good.

I knew someone who put insulation on their garage door – cooler in summer and warmer in winter.

Where I saw it used the rest of the garage wasn't insulated - as in unfinished garage. But prior to the installation the metal door radiated heat and cold (so to speak) and you didn't want to stand near it in either extreme.
 
I insulated my garage door earlier this year. I used the rigid foam. I have a refrigerator in the garage and when it gets cold the compressor won't run and the refrigerator gets hot. Counter intuitive, I know. It may work well enough where I can work on the bike this winter with only a space heater. We'll see.
 
Mellow, do you have your bike on high beam in the pics? My son's only burned one beam on low, or did Yamaha fix that so both beams burn on low?

That's just w the key on, no headlights, those are the OEM led strips.
