2006 ST1300
Stock seat and approaching 100k miles. Lots of 1000 mile plus days. I don't have a problem with the stock seat.
No doubt many will agree with both of us. I have had RDL seats on two Goldwings prior to the one I have now which also has an RDL. For long-distance comfort, you can't beat them, IMO! I have had many stock seats, Corbins and others over the years. Although I do not have an RDL on my current ST, I have ridden ST's with the RDL seat that was not custom made for me and found it very comfortable.Maybe for you. Seat comfort is the most individual, subjective preference. You may like it the most but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best.
To the OP, if you like the stocker that's cool.
Yep, I just see quite a few threads where people mention how much uncomfortable the stock seats are. I was wondering if anyone did get along fine with their stocker. Sounds like a few, maybe.Maybe for you. Seat comfort is the most individual, subjective preference. You may like it the most but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best.

I did in this string. Read post #2 and 17. I am getting mine done thru him and am scheduled for April next year.I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Terry Adcox yet. I have not heard a bad thing about his seats from anybody. I am on the wait list to have mine built for my BMW. It will be April before he gets to me. I have Sargent seats on my ST1300 and my Triumph Tiger. My DR650 has a Corbin 2x8 on it. They all work good for me.
I had a RDL on my ST for a couple of rides. I hated that seat.
Yes you did. Maybe I should have read all post all the way through. I did ride all day today if that gets me excuse. Lol just over 600 miles from Oklahoma City to Jackson, Mississippi. The Sargent seat on the ST did good.I did in this string. Read post #2 and 17. I am getting mine done thru him and am scheduled for April next year.
At which step does that put the rear of the seat? For the slide forward issue, I made two small block and a couple long bolts to raise the front mount
I have the seat set as high as I can because I am 6’3”. For a test , I set the front bracket down to the middle position, then the lowest. The back moved down also. Notice that I have set screws holding the blocks from turning. As the front bracket is moved down, the blocks lean forward. I would set the bracket at the height you like it then secure the blocks straight up.At which step does that put the rear of the seat?
I think you could change the length of the blocks to get the best position for you. This also changed other pressure points for me.Got it! Now I see what you did.
Ok so this preserves the boys' anti-dive you built in without any trauma to the seat or bike.I set the front bracket down to the middle position, then the lowest. The back moved down also.
I rode 03 ST for 11 years with a stock seat. I can set on it all day all night put on almost 150K-Miles. Also my FJR with stock seat nowadays..!Does anyone like the stock seat or is it unanimous opinion it needs fixing or replacing?
Thanks!
