Honda lowering kit ST1300

Are you asking if there is a lowering kit or how to do it? Lyle had a shop do his and he and rode one for years, before his K bike. PM him for details if the lowering threads don't help you out. More than a few guys here will say they simply learned to stop the bike and put one foot down. Don't be like the donkey who was sitting equidistant from two bales of hay. He starved to death because he could not make up his mind which one to eat first. Plan on one foot down always and get in the habit of doing so. If you have to decide at the last moment, over you will go.

Yes I’m asking if there is a lowering kit for Pan European

Yes I’m asking if there is a lowering kit for Pan European
I’m only 5’ 8” and I have been riding bikes for yrs and was always confident on all my other bikes I’ve owned, but been away from bikes for about 10 years & decided to buy a pan European but lowering my suspension front & rear would be a great advantage for myself as I know I can put both feet on the fooor, my seat height is at lower settings. And I don’t want to mess with my seat so if anyone knows where I could get a lowering kit it would be greatly received.

There is no lowering kit.
You say your 5'8" so what's the problem really. I'm 5'4" and yes a little trippy toe.
So all you can really do is:
Set the pre load as low as you can tolerate.
You could lower the forks by 1/4" not suggested by the way.
You can buy boots with a thicker sole ( not riding boot) more like tactical boot. This is what I did.
You could do what Peter said suck it up.
That's the lowering kit in a nut shell.
Read the THREAD.
I'm sorry but at 5 8 what's really the problem.

Its not his height that is important, its his inseam. Surely you have noticed some women seem to have very long legs for their height, and others long torsos (I am sure you have not looked at men the same way - I have not either). It stands to reason that guys are built the same way - some shorter guys have long legs for their height, others have long torsos and short legs. Only one thing is for sure, most of us have legs that reach the ground. :rofl1:

Sorry my bad.I have a 28" inseam with a 31-1/2" seat height, now I did forget to say, i was riding with a Corbin seat which is a little ditched out. That gave me a little more.
Yes if your not use to that size a weight of a bike, being a little more flat footed would be more better.
After a while riding the ST you do get use to it and you will feel more confident.
Be safe and see you all soon I'm sure.

I have the same inseam problem at 5'6' and 29". I bought a Corbin "close" (1 1/2" lower than the factory seat) seat and a pair of "linemans" boots. It made a world of difference.

OR you could buy a BMW 1600GTL with a 27 1/2" seat height like I did. JUST SAYING:hat2:
I hope all of this kind of helps, I'm sure its not the answer that CHIC was looking for.

Whatever's comfortable is whatever's comfortable. I spent a lot of time on a little Honda 250 Rebel that allowed easy flat-footin'. But I usually kept the right foot on the brake so it was one up one down anyway. No discomfort whatsoever. I like being able to flat foot my rides. This makes it easier to move the bike around when it's not under power. The ST is

with lipstick. I can flat foot it but moving it around I'm almost on my tippy-toes.
I don't have the luxury of a big ol' space to walk the ST into its corner.

Kudos to those 5'6-5'9" people who don't have an issue with the stock seat height. That's not how I'd roll. In fact I wouldn't mind maybe a 1-1.5" lower seat height. I already have it in the Mid-Low position (front-back). But it's not worth the time and money to me to go to a shorter shock. Maybe some BA boots but I wouldn't want too thick of a sole to interfere with shifting.

This shock will lower it 30mm.

For best handling you should lower the front a like amount. On my ST1100 I had a suspension shop rebuild the forks and he shortened it internally some, and pushed the forks up in the triple trees for the rest of what he needed. I also used a 60 series tire in the rear instead of a 70 series tire, but I don't know if a lower profile tire is available front or rear on the 1300.

Lowering made the bike much easier for me to handle.
