Delkevic exhaust

I may have missed it... But will these require jetting the carbs differently?

According to their website NO.

My thought is that the Smaller the Muffler you get the less back pressure you will have. If you have already lean EPA jetting and the go with a 14 inch muffler it would benefit with a little richer tweak of the idle screws if you are carburated.

Cool. Would love a better exhaust by am NOT interested in testing into the carbs.

I got the Full 18 inch version (the Full system) which are fairly quiet, each step down in size will be a little louder and slightly less pressure.
According to the Website there is also a slight increase in HP as you go smaller.
I'm well satisfied with these, Nice quality and fairly easy to install.

One of the hidden benefits that doesn't get much chatter is that Heat dissipation is much much better. When you lose the cat you lose all of that heat holding metal. I for me that alone is worth it. If your motivation is for better HP through an exhaust install I would tell you not to do it. If you want to loose a few pounds, change the look and sound then yes by all means get an exhaust.

Just went with the Delkevic 14" round. I like the end of these as they're more trumpet like. I took the baffles out and love these on my sweet St. A lot more go in the lower gears and sounds like a hotrod ford if you really go. Just a nice rumble cruising. Exactly as I hoped. Maybe not for all but me all good!

Just back from a 500mile-in-12hr rally and have to say that I really appreciated my 18" oval Del's on the ride. I am not crazy about them at idle or leaving lights,,, but I love the "drone of the tone" at 3600rpm and above,,,, Cat'

When I bought my bike, it already had a set of Delkevics, but not sure if one of the previous owners replaced the entire OEM system or not. I haven't examined everything closely enough to determine this, or the exact model of the muffler. Compared to stock systems I've heard, I really like the Delk system I have. I would, however, like to have a deeper, more robust and "tougher" sound.

I do have a question, for those who have worked with the Delks before: aside from taking out the internal baffle pipe, is there a way to modify the internal packing of the muffler to give it a throatier/deeper sound without making it obnoxiously loud and sharp? A muffler specialist I spoke with about a year ago or so said he could pop the rivets off the end-cap and remove some of the packing to make it louder and possibly deeper.

Has anyone had any experience with this kind of mod to the muffler?

Done it many times. Just drill the rivet heads off and pop the end cap off. Remove as much packing as you would like and re-rivet the cap when you are done. Easy Peazy! You can put the cap on and stick something though a couple of holes (to hold the cap on) and try different levels of packing removed to get where you want before you rivet it for good.

Damnit, thought I had finally picked up a scoot that I was just gonna ride and ride and not bother with mods etc etc etc - last scoot was a vtx 1800 Neo that I modded the crap out of

And then I come here and read all the posts you numbskulls post and then I google and hear a sound bite.

Brought the wife into my office and before showing her the video I just said *I'm sorry hunny, no, really, I'm sorry* LMAOAOAOAO!!!! Here we go ;)

Hi guys, I haven’t been on here for sometime now, I still have my ST13 I bought back in 2006!. Obviously I’m in the uk. I know it’s been a long time but I was looking at the delkevics on eBay (see link), I want a picture of these on a pan if possible and in particular a shot from behind So I can see how the large end cap looks in relation to the baffle size etc.
if anyone has some pics that would be great cheers!.

I've just installed Delkevic's 14" silencers (last week) with the "slash cut" tips. I opted to go without the removable baffles. WOW! She sounds mean! I can't believe the difference. Money well spent... that's for sure!

And not to mention the heat you will loose at the ankles with the loss off the cats in the originals plus some weight also !

Thinking about doing something similar to my FJR but just haven't pulled the trigger on them yet. Glad you like them!
A friend of mine has a 2017 FJR,,, and I think the stock exhaust sounds awesome. I say that as someone who has ridden both the stock ST13 exhaust,,, and the 18" del's extensively. Assuming your 2015 is similar to the 2017's system,,, make sure you listen to both installations carefully before investing,,, cheers, CAt'

You mean like on this YouTube... :)

cheers, I did find that vid on YouTube after a good search!, it sounds quite loud but can’t tell if the baffles are in or out?. I think the baffles are fitted from the opposite end to normal on that model. Loosing the cats and some weight would be good. I think I’m going ahead and order a set for £359, hopefully the fuelling will be ok.
a bit late after owning it since 2006 but hey these are strange times lol.

My delcavics are too loud. Keep wanting to put stockers back on but to many chores in my life these days. In fact I bought it with em on and have never heard it stock. They seem good quality.FE78EB31-973B-4FD1-961E-7C5A3BD86740.jpeg
I’m only good for a couple hours after my morning walk. Then I crash.. 7 bikes in my collection and
3 cars. Seems somethings always broken or needs an oil change. Sigh.

Are those 14" or 18" del's ?? I have the 18" del's and bought them lightly used for a great price,, just to give them a try. These are the things I like about them. Price. Weight is a bit less. Power,, is a bit more. Heat is a bit less, due to no catalytic's. Sound is decent,,, but then I use the newer long baffles,, and I wear pro-form earplugs. Looks,,, they look pretty good. Quality,,, seems decent. If money was no object,, I would test the 2-brothers product. Although I didn't mind the oem exhaust,,, but my Del's are just enough better in each way to warrant the change,,, cheers,, CAt'
