Been looking around at various threads mentioning parts fiche, specifically for my 2008 ST1300A (USA non-CA model).
What's your favorite go-to here at the end of 2020? I've seen a couple that don't "specify" my particular model / year, but come close (such as https://www.cmsnl.com/), and generally this will do...(BUT!) There are several from which to choose, I know.
If anyone knows of a downloadable 'fiche for the bike, that would be a bonus.
And THANKS!

Short answer - no, I don't know of one. That isn't to say that they don't exist.

There was a very nice parts diagram available, but for the 2003/2004 bikes.

The on-line fiches come with the parts lists and prices, and generally, these are updated as part numbers are modified. The ones I use in the UK also indicates whether the part is in stock, available to order, or whether the part is no longer available. Sometimes, they get this wrong - eg - some sites say that a part is no longer available, but the part was updated and it is the original part that is no longer available. The updated part is still available.

In short - you may find that you need to look at a few sources for reference and for that, the online sources are better.

If you have a '2008' bike, you need to make certain you know which model it is. Many of the parts for the ST1300 have not changed since it was introduced in 2002, and are common across all models. (The rear brake caliper springs to mind). However, the 2008 model introduced a number of very significant changes. You need to know if your bike is actually a 2008 model or a 2006 / 7 model that was sold and registered in 2008. This may be why you can't find your particular model on some fiches. They didn't introduce a new model each year - they continued to build the previous model. I think in the USA, there was no change from 2009 until 2012. In the UK, the 2009 model stayed around until it changed in 2014.

The white label under the seat will give you the model number. The 10th character of the VIN (on the headstock) will give you the model year.

One good company here in the UK is David Silver. I believe he now has a presence in the USA. If you contact them, and give your frame number, they will be able to tell you precisely what model and variation your bike is. Example - I needed a new radiator. Mine is a UK 2009 model that was actually built in late 2013. The 2014 model in the UK has a different radiator, but it turns out that they changed the radiator part way through the production run of the 2009 models. They were able to tell me when the change took place, and from my (VIN) that mine required the later model of radiator.

The only part that attaches to the new radiator that is different from the older models is the radiator cap. So I reckon that the radiator ahs a different fitting for the cap. Which makes the entire radiator £100 cheaper. Yeah. Right !

Not sure about a downloadable parts fiche, but places like Partzilla or Revzilla have everything available at your fingertips for any part on your bike. I attached a link to Partzillas parts list, for your bike. (we have the same bike) Good luck....

I also have a downloadable mother Honda pdf with parts and part numbers... it's for 03-04 though... http://data.pan-european.be/ST1300_parts_cat.pdf

Thanks for the Replies, youse guys.
Y'all are basically confirming what I have already found (no stranger to Uncle Google), but I ALSO know there are still many untapped diamond mines and proliferous gemstones of wisdom hiding in some of the brain-trusts on this forum.
Guess I'm still looking for that "magic key" that has all the answers to my questions that I don't even know to ask... but that's why this forum is still active.
I'm finding pretty much all I need, with the help of everyone here (and Uncle G), but life is good when you have CHOICES.
It's the info-junkie-hoarder that wants a downloadable version that I can carry around at my fingertips.
I appreciate this place, its supporters, and its Commenteers (made that word up just now).
Cheers!
(That's not a word that comes naturally to us southerners, just sayin'.)

TBH, what's the need for an offline fiche? You need to go online to find, compare and purchase parts anyway, so an online fiche (Partzilla) seems good enough. An offline manual yes, but offline fiche, not so much.

I can find the p/n very quickly with an online fiche, (especially since I already have a shortcut to it for my bike) and just copy/paste into Google from there. Either way, horses for courses.

And yes, I did mean an offline manual was helpful, whereas an offline fiche, not so helpful, at least not to me. I use my "offline" manual in the garage and it's marked up and greasy!

In all fairness I have copies of almost everything I find on a portable HD as well. You never know when something online will disappear, or in my case the WiFi in the garage is crap when I need / want something. Sort of the same way I buy books vs download onto a Kindle. I have the service manual as an e-copy (one on the computer and one on my iPhone) but I also have a paperback version :)

I use Dealer 1 ; Dealer 2; Dealer3; Dealer 4; Dealer 5; Dealer 6; for parts - note those are six separate links to Honda dealers who post fiches online. I gave you the raw websites, not my link for my 2010 ST's parts fiches. As far as downloading your own list, I picked one of those (don't remember which one), and used the shift-command-4 to highlight part of my browser and take a screen shot of that. (I use an apple platform). I then printed out that fiche and a few shots of the parts lists with prices. Cumbersome? Yes, but I wanted the hard copy for my looseleaf. As it turns out I use the online fiches more than my looseleaf (I only copied those fiches that I thought I might need - not all of them.).

When I order parts, if its over say $50, I check several dealers and total up my order - the shipping charges vary as do the individual parts prices. Talk about being compulsive!
