Which windshield would you choose if you need to buy it now?

I really like my Clearview. Ordered with the PRV vent holes and as big as they make it. 3" taller. About $200 shipped

Lots of choices and decisions out there.
After much research I decided to go with a new OEM shield (about a year ago). It is poly carbonate for increased strength and designed for the bike by the engineers.
I have read that the over-sized heavier screens cause increase stress on the windscreen adjust motor which can cause premature failure.
(a lot of the cheaper aftermarket screens are not poly-carbonate and not as strong and are subject to UV damage- yellowing)
The secret to a good windscreen is the proper care to prevent scratches in the first place. A good soaking with water to dissolve the bugs will help prevent scratches followed by an application of "Plexus cleaner / polish" after words and your screen will stay nice for a long time.
My wife made a nice soft cloth elastic cover for my new wind screen so while in storage it keeps the dust off and helps protect it.

I cut five inches off my stock screen and loved it, mostly all back road riding. All the way down, clean air flow and the wind lifted the weight from my wrists.
All the way up, I could still just see over it. No helmet noise with ear plugs. Droning on Freeways ??. I thought this was a SPORT Touring bike?

Just as an experiment, have you tried using Plexus on it and giving it a good cleaning and polish?

My last two bikes had scratched and dulled / yellowed windshields, and in both cases I used Plexus and some clean microfiber towels. The dull yellow haze was cleaned off, and all but the most severe scratches were removed quite nicely. It took some time and elbow grease (maybe an hour or so), but in both cases it turned the shields from "I need to replace this" to "Hey, that's not so bad after all".

Just a suggestion.


Yes, I've tried that. But it's still kind of blur after the phishing.
 
I have a clearview small with the Goldwing style vent. its a little wider than the stock windshield but thats what I was looking for, something a little wider
 
Hi, I am new to the forum. I am in Macclesfield in the UK. I have tried the V-Stream. It's an improvement on the oem screen, but I still found quite a bit of turbulence at higher speeds. I am 6' 1" and found the Bike Quip a big improvement over the V-stream. Much quieter. The flip at the top of the screen helps push the air over the top of my helmet. I have the screen set at the higher position on the bracket mounting.
 
currently have california scientific, works great untill it rains, then the non closing vents in windshield allow rain through and onto face. perhaps i need a scuba mask?
 
OEM works just fine for me and co-pilot, I'm 6 3 and yes I've tried other screens, mother Honda knows best

adjustable windshield that works better than anything else I found. I like riding my ST1100 better than the ST1300 due to this windshield. (They don't make one for the ST1300 because it already is adjustable but MadStad makes a better unit for the ST1100 than Honda did for the ST1300)
How tall are you and is it a good fit? I am 6' tall and am thinking of getting the medium.
i'm 6' tall also and went with the clearview small with the vent which is what Gas Guy was / is using and it works very good for me

I have a brand new OEM screen. I took it off and replaced it before ever riding my current ST1300. I like to ride looking over the top of the screen, usually with visor up. The OEM screen directs the airflow straight into my eyes.

+1 on the BikeQuip screen. The flip up takes the airflow over my helmet, and cuts down helmet noise. I am 6'4". That is one on my avatar. I had a new tinted one delivered before my new bike arrived.
 
Another vote for Clearview. Eliminated the back pressure from the stock windshield. Less turbulence, less air on my hands. Very pleased with it.
