I'd like to purchase a new Shoei Neotec II helmet, and transfer my Sena SMH10 to it. This SMH10 has been on 3 helmets so far and works really well for me. I see the Neotec II has the option to integrate the Sena SRL system, but this 'bump' on the side seems to prohibit attaching other comm systems and I want to keep my SMH10.

Anyone mounted an SMH10 or similar to the Neotec II? If so, how did you do it and how is it working out?

If this turns out to be a problem, my other choice would be the Schuberth C3 Pro, which seems like it will allow mounting of the SMH10 with little trouble. BTW, I've tried to find a NOS Neotec I, but no luck. General thoughts/comments are welcome and thanks very much for the help.

Thanks Joe, that was not on my radar, but it is now. Problem though, it's very hard to find right now, even Klim doesn't have many color/size choices.

How quickly does the shield lighten up, like coming into a tunnel?

It's not an instant transition. It takes a min or two from light to dark, similar to eye glasses.

However, it's so nice to not have to remember to pull over because you forgot to change the shield and we all hate to pull over when we don't want to.. I've never been a fan of the internal drop-down shields but many are ok with them.

When riding early in the morning or at night you don't even notice the shield changed.

The Klim also flows air nicely. You know when the top vent is open.

I like the drop down sun shield, but the transition shield sounds interesting. A replacement transition shield is $150 though. o_O

The low weight, air flow and compatibility with comms is pretty tempting. Have to weigh this against the C3 Pro, which is just a little heavier.

I've had a shoei with one and have never had to replace it... in fact the only time I've bought shields is when they came with clear and I needed a dark tint one .. lol

The Sena cradle just attaches a little further back on the Neotech 2. It's no problem and actually the mount like that makes it easier to use the visor slide mechanism compared to having the Sena in the 'conventional' location. This is coming from having both the Neotec and Neotec 2.

Thanks Dave. Did you clamp it on or stick it on? I've been wary of just sticking it on, but have heard it works well if done properly.
