Speedo- dash light Mod

I considered changing my dash, but the LCD reversal was beyond my threshold for screwing something up. The turn around time and total cost involved with Bluegauges.com is hard to beat when considering the alternative. They did a great job on my dash and I am very happy with the results.

I had blue gauges switch out mine. Never really liked it. Now that I see Highrider's I should of went with his Option because with Bluegauges you can pick the lights for your LCD. I went with blue looks like Highrider went with white? Check out digikey A U.S. company, they sell surface mount LED's If you go with doing it yourself just know there are many types of LED's a far as brightness and type of lens. I would call Digikey Couldn't get a good picture the bright one is with the lights out and the other one is with shop lights on,

If you noticed in my pictures I have a red ABS light on my nonABS ST That is Clearwater Century Charging system light I installed. I did have to use a tented lens to dim it down.

The crazy thing for me is after riding dirtbikes for 40years I never really look at my gauges . Only the Blinking fuel light gets my attention.

I had BlueGauges.com do white LEDs for the speedo & tach and for the backlight behind the info panel; red behind the needles. I didn't want the LCD reversed. Way too bright after the sun goes down for long distance visual comfort IMO.

The first picture is outside in sunlight. The second inside my garage with dimmer ambient lighting. That how the instruments appear on the road after dark.

I am ready to take on the job of switching out my dash LED's I want to go with Blue instead of orange. has anyone done this on a ST1300? I would like to find the parts before I take my dash apart.

Seems like once I get my hands on a ST1300, I will be sending the gauge cluster to http://www.bluegauges.com/ to modernize the look of the bike!
