Wondering which one u have. My shield is great, but id like to experiment with one in the rain. Most of the ratings on amazon are 4 star, so im a bit suspicious.

I always look at the 1,2 and 3 star ratings (in that order). A lot of the one star reviewers clearly had either unrealistic expectations or no knowledge how to use the product. Every now and then you get someone articulate who explains the shortcomings of the reviewed product - that's what I look for.

I have a bolt on MRA (works great on my full time Givi shield as well as on a Clearview which is useless without it) and this cheap clamp on Amazon version which has worked fine on the rarely used Clearview... ST1100

Tried one of those and found the joints too weak, hence it folded in/up/all over the place... but I've to admit that I ran up to 100mph with it, hitting dirty air behind semis or coaches also brough so much force on the screen, that the lower black garnish plate got forced out the mounting spots...
It also didn't calm the airflow around the helmet, nor brought the noise down as I'd intended... hence it got removed after 1/2 a day...
(I obtained it cause I'm sitting a tad higher with the Top Sellerie saddle... I'll now change the SECDEM screen from 51cm to 55cm which will solve the problem...)

I always used a LAMINAR LIP on my ST1100 and both of my BMW GSA's. wasn't just a windshield extension and made a BIG difference controlling the flow of air.

Put a laminar lip on my Concours and rode to the east coast. Made the windshield shake like crazy. Did not do much else, took it off. Glad it worked for someone else though

The LL (laminar lip) works great with my oem windscreen and the oem mirror deflectors. I was surprised,,, as I was not expecting results this good. It really does smooth the otherwise turbulent air. I look over the screen, with it fully lowered most of the time. On longer rides I may raise the screen 1 to 2 inches, depending on speed. But always, still looking over the screen and LL. cheers,, CAt'

When properly installed it should extend only about an inch above the stock wind shield. the laminar lip is not a windshield extension. what it does is create a high pressure zone between the Lip and the stock wind shield forcing the air up and over the rider. I don't trust the buttons that came with the
Lip. once I found the right place for placement I drilled 2 holes on each side and installed with spacers to make it permanent.
