Thanks, I was thinking of going that route anyways. The old flat one was held in with silicone, so this won't be much different except this one is cut to fit under the lip not inside it. I'll figure something out.

By the way, is the mirror automotive mirror? Regular mirrors don't have coatings on them to filter out light reflections, so that it won't bother your eyes (specially at night). I wonder if these convex mirrors are automotive quality or just regular mirrors.
It can be checked by looking at a headlight reflections from the mirror.
We don't notice stock car/motorcycle mirrors having this characteristics until they are replaced by regular mirror.

I haven't mounted it yet. I would expect it to be cheap regular old mirror. My hopes are not high for it, but anything is better than nothing. Getting tired of looking over my right shoulder or startled by a car that wasn't there a moment ago.
