RTC 2025/08/31-09/7 Rolling ONcamp/CabinSTOC Northern ONT

I unfortunately will have to cancel:(. My knee while better is getting better keeps me from getting up from the ground easily so sleeping in a tent might not be great. I am able to be on my feet for a whole work day but I don’t know that I would be confident holding up the bike. I don’t want slow down the group and affect everyone’s enjoyment.
Hope everyone has a great time.

Gerhard
Too bad. Hope you get stronger sooner than later.
No one "kneeds" a BMW laying on them.

Just a reminder to you guys on the ferry. Don't forget to bring your own tie-down straps for your motorcycle.
The ferry service does provide tie-downs however they are rather bulky hooks and can damage touring bikes.
I would recommend fashioning some soft straps for securing around forks and luggage handles.

I'm out too.
Niki, (my lovely 1st wife), had C4,5,6 surgery that went well as far as the surgery goes but there were some complications. It was supposed to be a 1 night hospital stay but she's on day 4 and counting.
I'll be needed on the home front.
Enjoy every minute guys.
Sorry to hear Jeff. All the best to Nicki.

A photo dump. We all had a great time even in the rain, ( one day). ;) The general consensus was the Deer Trail from Elliot Lake to Hwy 129 was the highlight. The campgrounds were excellent too. The temperatures were just right, not too cold not to hot making it very comfortable for both riding and camping.
I’m going to run this again next year, however, I will omit 129 north up to Chapleau. Instead after the Deer Trail, take 129 south to Thessalon. The road is better and offers more twisties.
Depending on where ONSToc is held next year will determine the final days ride.

Robert. Thanks again for setting up this pre-ONStoc tour. Definitely on the radar for 2026. There certainly were plenty of camp sites available at very nice parks. And the roads were great, and the views of Lake Superior were stunning. Fun, fun.20250902_170242.jpg
I always enjoy the view of Old Woman’s Bay on my return from the west.
