Good morning everyone

There's fresh, hot French roast coffee in the pot for you today. Have some and warm up.

It's 29°F and cloudy in Rockville, with just a light dusting of snow on top of the scant 1/2 - 1 inch that we got yesterday. Mostly cloudy with a high of 39 is the outlook for the day.

Mrs. Fun will be at the same conference today that she attended Thursday and yesterday; I'll drop her at the Metro this morning then make the trip down to the convention center late this afternoon to collect her and bring her and her stuff back home.

In between those forays I'll continue to chip away at the dressing bench design / plans, and also at the little crafts project (homemade ornaments) that I'll offer to the uke group at Thursday's holiday party.

Maybe some clothes will be washed as well; who can say for sure?

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, all, and thanks for the coffee, Keith!

It's quite a bit warmer today than it was yesterday, but that's just temporary; it'll be very cold again by Monday. We currently have a temp of -5°C/23°F (feels like -8°C/18°F) under overcast skies and we'll see a high of 2°C/32°F (will feel like -4°C/25°F) with scattered flurries from about 8 a.m. to about 3 p.m.
I have a bucketload of stuff to do this weekend, which includes slogging through a whole lot more of the remaining two engineering documents I have to deliver next week in between the usual chores that must be done to keep one's day-to-day life running smoothly, so I'd best get a move on.

Everybody have a good one, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

Good morning and thanks for the coffee start, Keith.

It's snowing a bit this morning and the temperature is 26 in MA. It will rise to 37, and we're told to expect some snow showers today. Otherwise, it'll be cloudy.

Yesterday's skiing didn't take long, since the local ski area only had two trails open. I managed about 10 runs, though, and was home a little after noon. The knees were telling me that my skiing days may be numbered...

When I arrived back home, I found the Amazon TV stand awaiting some assembly. So I did. Afterwards, I grabbed a folding table, and have the TV in its place.
The TV was plugged in and connected to our wifi. I need to work out connecting to streaming services.

Dinner was at a local pub-style restaurant.

Today , I'll try to get us out for some Christmas shopping.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning all, Thanks for the French roast Keith.

Cloudy here in the frozen tundra waiting for 3-4" of snow this evening. Last night only a dusting. My sister was complaining about 28 degrees on Cape Cod I told her that is what we consider t-shirt weather. All relative I guess.

My psycho rescue Doberman ate and regurgitated something leather a couple of days ago. Today she is behaving like she has an obstruction. Why does this sh__ always happen on a weekend? Now my only option is the Emergency Vet Clinic which stinks in 2 ways. I don't have access to the Vet we (dog and I) know and trust. I have to hand my dog over to a stranger and hope for some degree of competency. Secondly they are going to ask me for a credit card and want to put a $1000. hold on it the minute I walk in the door. None of it inspires the warm fuzzy feeling. Gone are the days when I can call my local Vet and he tells me to meet him at the clinic in 30 minutes. Sold out to Veterinary medicine for the highest possible profit. Guess I'll watch her for a couple hours and hope for the best.

Have a great day everyone. Remember be safe out there.

I was going to take over the world,
but I slept in... :coffee:

G'Day...

2°/6°C today, pretty much gray in gray, in the afternoon a few spritzer possible...

No office, at ze GF's place, hence purely Nespresso caffeinated... :coffee:

Spent (wasted?) the morning with installing Xmas...
Inflated Santa and his sidekick Randolph got tied down and connected to the outlet on the terrace...
Also the little maple tree received his annual LED light-show... 🎄
Garden shed had a clogged gutter... cleaned...
Relocated the trail-cam closed to the bird-feeder... see who's munching what...
Also topped up the latter, we've created a mix of peanuts, raisins and meal-worms...🪳
Na, they're already dead... but still weird when picking up the large, transparent container and notice "movement"... ;)

Prepped the GF's HP notebook/laptop for the transplant... instruments ready, service-flap open... ⛑️
The system spit out another [HDD failing!] pre-warning upon booting... 👾
Samsung Data Migration Tool already running, cloning the disk onto a 500GB SSD...
Slow as mud uphill... currently at 15%... pfffff...

No grocery runs, Monday is a holiday, so all stores will be overrun... on top of the Xmas frenzy...

Enough yadda-yadda... enjoy your Saturday!

Thx Keith!

9˚c/48f, straaaaange weather, overcast, slight breeze from south.

Been for a walk uphill.

Mrs Stus uncle died peaceful yesterday, so we’ve just been to his family to pay our respect.
I really need a drink, but it’s only 2:15 over here.

Have a good one!
Stu

Todays situation uphill….wet and blueish.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee, Keith.

A little warmer today. Starting at33 and going to 47, with some sun this afternoon. Nothing planned, but Teddy has started his morning with a nap.

Last Christmas, my daughter gave me a feeder/wireless camera to watch my feathered friends.

Last Christmas, my daughter gave me a feeder/wireless camera to watch my feathered friends.
We also gifted a bird specific one to the MIL...
But what is DIL doing with it?!

Monitoring his mousetraps... and then proudly show his "kill-shots" to anyone who explicitly didn't ask for them... :cautious:
That man is getting mean in his old days... leave them for those poor cats!

Thanks for the hot and fresh, Keith.
I'll add my sympathies to Stu, as well as my good wishes for Donk's pup.

Kaiser has chewed and swallowed a couple of odd items, but they came out the same way they went in, and it was not pretty. Once an entire (or most of a) beach towel kept in his crate as something soft to lie on, then later a substantial piece of the plastic pan that is the crate floor, after I removed the soft bedliner.

Why do some animals do that? A purely rhetorical question.

Cool / cold and damp here, I don't wanna know how cold, so I'm ignoring the thermometer. I just know that hot coffee doesn't stay that way for long, sitting outside.

I butchered the &×/@$# hollies again last weekend, with a sharp new chain on the saw.
Today involves picking up the remainder of the shortened limbs and branches off the ground. Chainsaw not required for this part, and there's only a little bit left to do.

Then hopefully, the Crimson Tide will smoke Georgia again at 3pm for the SEC championship (NOT soccer!), so I'll hold off hoping for a playoff game until we see what happens in Atlanta this afternoon. They have a good chance, but I have had many occasions to watch Alabama snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

"One is always more vexed at losing a game of any sort by a single hole or ace, than if one has never had a chance of winning it".
~William Hazlitt

Have the best day you can, and let's pray for an early spring (yes, already.)

Morning Keith & All from mostly sunny in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 50F, up from 34F and heading for 54F. We have a heat wave going on! A slight breeze now, later the winds will be out of the N @ 9 to 12mph.

Stu, sorry to hear about Mrs. Stu's Uncle. Prayers of comfort for her, family and friends.

Yesterday, pretty much amounted to getting nothing done. We'll see what today brings.

Chris is sleeping in, again, so once she wakes, we'll get some breakfast down. Pepsi(s) for later.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

@STooRay let me add my condolences to the list.

My sister was complaining about 28 degrees on Cape Cod I told her that is what we consider t-shirt weather. All relative I guess.

My brother once shared a temperature scale calibrated for residents of the upper Midwest / Great Lakes region. I don't recall any of the specifics except for this: -25°F: Minnesotans button top shirt button.
