Hello,
I bought this before I found a Russell Day Long that I like. My total miles are ~2000, I did buy it used, it looked brand new except for the blemishes (scratches) pictured immediately below.

My opinion it was flatter and more comfortable than the OEM. Just a note, there appears to be a crease on the back of the rear seat, but I think that is just the way it was stored in the box, I let it sit out most of the day and it has already relaxed, I suspect it will go away completely.

Looking for $300 shipped within the US. I am open to shipping to Canada, but I have no idea what I am doing with that, so I might need your help.

Thanks!
Ryan

My ST1300 came with a driver's Sargent seat (it did not have the compartment on the bottom). It was surprisingly hard and flat and I only sold it because I am vertically challenged and the seat's width pushed my legs outward, making even tip toeing the bike difficult. I did put some miles on the bike before I got the OEM seat and said hard flat Sargent was very comfortable.

Open to offers! I would prefer this go to someone who will use it rather than sit in my garage and get damaged. Just keep in mind with your offers that shipping will be ~$80 for me.

Thanks again!
Ryan

I'm looking for a seat for my '06 ST1300. I am considering this.

Curious why you like the Russell better?

Hi JWallace,
I think it boils down to body build and riding style. I am a more "standard" motorcycle rider, so I liked sit more upright. I am also not too aggressive. I got lucky and bought a used Russell Day Long that must have been built for someone close to my dimensions. It feels kind of like an old tractor seat pan/bowl, which for me, seems to hold me on the bike a little better, especially in the turns. It also has a little more padding than the Sargent, which is appreciated when you hit a big enough bump without warning.

Not saying that I didn't find the Sargent more comfortable than the OEM. I would have been perfectly happy with the Sargent if I didn't try a Russell Day Long that was for sale local. :roflmao:

I describe the OEM seat as more like a bicycle seat (narrower and leans forward into the tank), which was "okay" but I needed to stretch my legs every hour or so and I would definitely feel hot spots by the end of the day. The Sargent seat feels a little more like a jet ski seat (flatter and wider and more level), I had several day rides going 3-4 hours at a time without issue.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Good info. I love my ST and take long rides as well. Up in the NH or VT mountains I can’t resist the occasional peg grind, although a 70+ years I’m feeling maybe I should calm down a little bit (we’ll see how that goes). At 6’ 2”, 220 lbs., I could use a little more leg room and a seat that sits a little higher. Jack
