**Quite A Surprise

I don't mind E10 as it does work but E15 can cause damage.
That is what surprises me about Pilot/Flying J giving you no option but expensive premium for E10.
Too cheap to add/replace a pump but not too cheap to rip you off! ;)
Well, at least they openly announce it...

Had a chat with my Toyota mech, who frequently had to send in fuel samples after warranty issues...
Turned out you might unknowingly get anything up to E25 sold over here... despite the E10 labels...
The only chance to minimize the risk is to always select premium, where they cannot go over E5... hopefully...

I'm blind, deaf and stupid. Not seeing it... his avatar looks like an ST1100 to me. Don't see a sig line.
Sorry. It's just me...

The blended fuel risk to older bikes, especially elastomeric bits (seals, fuel lines, etc) is no joke. I worked in the "Rubber Industry" when the biofuel products were starting to roll out - we had to develop new compound recipes to withstand the stuff.

Worse, I have a dead 'Bird in my garage with eaten out carb diaphragms which are no longer available as die-ing proof. :-(
