Drinking Sunday coffee like it’ll cancel Monday.
It won’t. But let me dream... :coffee:

G'Day...

2°/13°C and mostly sunny today...
after a clear, moonlit night some surfaces still covered in slight frost... 🧊

been woken up at the butt-crack of dawn by a humongous murder of crows circling above... damn pterodactyls... 🐦‍⬛
Spring is near, so the migrating ones mingle with the locals, their sleeping trees at a body of water are not far from ze GF's house,
which again is right underneath their commute to & from their feeding grounds east of the city... thus ruckus twice a day... pfffff...

Nespresso varieties :coffee:, self baked 🍞 (new receipt), 🧈, soft boiled hen fruit 🥚, jelly 🍓 and then some more :coffee:

Well, gonna to dig in now... :food1:

GF expressed intentions to go on an intensive walk/hike through the riparian forests later...
Motivation level high as her bike is pretty much fixed now... ;)
Some fresh air might do good... or can one suffocate on oxygen overdose?

have a nice Sunday!

Thx Martin!
Careful with that oxygygen overdose….

4˚c/39f, sunny with some clouds, rain later, quite calm.

Taking a rest day….charging boat battery, and install it later to see if electric gremlins are gone.
Some reading.
A bit of cooking.

Peter came by yesterday, dressed like the swedish chef from Muppet show, he’s a gem!

Have a good one, look out for falling missiles!
Stu

Springish sundown yesterday…

That sounds like spring to me - but we frequently have false springs .

Meterorlogists use 1st March. The rest of us have to wait for the sun crossing the equator nearly 3 weeks later.
And then wait a bit longer for the April snowfall - which was delayed until June one year.

But the days are getting brighter, and longer. The blackout curtains are starting to feel like a good investment and since they built on the green fields at the back, the rooks, crows and magpies have gone elsewhere. The little pond is full of frogspawn so at least two creatures have emerged from hibernations. But Cuckoos - I haven't heard one for years.

I was nearly tempted to get the Spyder out for an hour this morning but things contrived to delay that so that it was no longer feasible. Maybe later if the sun stays - but it has rained at some point every day for the last 6 weeks. (Where 'at some point' means anything from 'all day' to 'a couple of hours'). But I think the salt has all been washed off the road surface. I'm still nervous and any surface that looks greasy - well you'd think with 3 wheels it would stick to the road. Not so. It slips at the drop of a hat - which apparently makes it a lot of fun on the alpine passes. I've yet to appreciate that charactersitic.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the early coffee and breakfast, Martin. @jfheath great to hear from you. Keep those Spyder reports coming.

It's 38°F and "mostly clear" in Rockville. Mostly sunny with a high around 48 will happen later.

Yesterday was a spectacular early spring day. Not a cloud in the sky, dry air so the sky was a deep, brilliant blue, and a temperature in the middle 60s. Perfect goof weather, and I actually played well (by my standards at least, nothing to brag about in absolute terms) so it was all the more enjoyable.

We had a very pleasant dinner last night with neighbors, at a local restaurant. One side is the full chef-at-the-table hibachi experience, the other side is regular dining, with an optional twist: for a fixed (and surprisingly reasonable) price you can do all-you-care-to-eat ordering from the a la carte menu. No doggie bags allowed, and there's a hefty per-item surcharge if you fail to consume what you ordered.

Today I'll drive a blind friend down to Leonardtown, in southern MD, to visit another friend of his whose hobbies include making reproductions of antique firearms. Having never seen such a process I'm quite interested.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.
I had to make do with airline coffee...

We made it to Zurich, and are getting ready to take off for Geneva. Bus ride to Le Tres Valles will follow.
This trip started at 4:30 yesterday.
It's good seeing the regular skiers, some occasional travelers, and the new ones.

Enjoy your day,
Steve

Morning all, and thanks Martin, but what is this "Spring" you all speak of and allude to?

-6 here with a sunny haze, headed to downward to -17 tonight they say. The odd dash of snow may even happen. No hurricanes though and no heat waves, so that's good to know.

Yesterday's electrical work didn't happen, shockingly. Two of the parts are still in transit to the store so I decided to wait and do it all at once vs in multiple jobs. Today, I think there's a Costco run in store, even though we visited 3 grocery stores yesterday. There are items we need for home, and Thing2 sent us a list for uni, that I was told we're doing a trip on Tues/Wed to deliver. That is if I choose to come. Given I was told this yesterday afternoon, I need to see if I can get the time off work, or like Bob I'll be unsupervised. :) Spontaneity if for babies in diapers, which is to say often a load of crap.

Hope everyone has a great day, no matter where you end up going unexpected.

Obo.

Good Sunday Morning Everyone! Thanks for the Feb send off!

A murder of birds, twice a day like clockwork,
Martin, that’s nature not jack hammer construction that will ‘only last 2 weeks’ 😂 Stu.. mostly only fish, would have a problem with O2 OD, let’s stick to watching missiles. 🤣 Let’s see.. now Keith, I could have a field day with a blind person working with firearms but I don’t see it.. kosher at this point, however I believe I have 3 correct.. so 3 in a week or so, at this rate, maybe in 3-4 months I’ll put names with faces, no wait.. with places, ummm with avatars, with bikes! gee..
If I live that long. 😵‍💫 just kidding.

Presently 54f, should make mid 70s, yet another nice.. this is why you live in Florida in winter. 🥶

I feel the need for.. camping! Time to get moving around more before I completely atrophieee myself!
Man, I don’t know about.. getting old to this phase, except- I can’t say I like it. 🙃

Enjoy the March charge!, let’s band together over BS
and not sweat the small stuff.. bullets are flying, bombs are dropping.
Please God.. Speed.. Peace. 🙏

I am done…

Morning all and thanks for the life support Martin!

It is supposed to be making it to 28F today and going to -2F tonight. It is currently 24F under severely overcast skies having a 60% chance of leaking the occasional snowflake with a wind growling around the corners of the house reminiscent of late December. The forecast says tomorrow will also be cold but sunny. Then, a week of "unsettled" (unhinged?) weather with temps pogo-sticking all around and a possible mixture of rain, sleet, freezing rain and snow.

Spring you say? Pfffffttt says I !!!

Today will not be crazy, a quick trip to the grocery store and topping the truck up with go-go juice will likely be the extent of any adventures undertaken.

Be safe, be careful and beware of everything!!

Scott

Thanks Martin for zeGF update. Let us know if you have a problem keeping up with her on the bike.
It's good seeing the regular skiers, some occasional travelers, and the new ones.
I'll never forget our family trip through Switzerland and Austria long ago... driving through the Alps and seeing the jet-set young ladies with bodies like models, out skiing ...in bikinis. (!!) The high altitudes with lowered atmospheric UV filtering combined with the bright sun reflecting off the clean snow gave them the appearance - and the tan - of beach bunnies.
Only years later when I discovered sliding down the slopes with boards strapped to my feet, did I discover the mind-blowing concept of ...spring skiing.
But as a 12yo non-skier, I was gobsmacked. At their nubile physiques, as well as the unlikely concept of baring their bodies to the snow.
Things you never forget.
So with that unexpected dash to the flash of the past, I've squirreled myself once more and can't recall if I came here to say something...
Hey, it happens.
My memory is so bad, I sometimes forget I have a bad memory.
EDIT: Oh, yeah... spring. Temps in the 70s all week, no rain to speak of is scheduled. Sure, we'll have another cold snap or two, but the warmer weather is forcing its will on the South.
I'm down with that.

Good morning all!
Thanks for the get go, Martin.
I’m planning a quiet day today, however, I may get a call to pick up my pontoon boat, so that may possibly be the highlight of today’s entertainment.

I believe yesterday’s golf cart poker run went off well, I did not participate, other than sitting in the palm tree shade, watching to participants gleefully ride on past. Naturally, I required a beverage to keep hydrated.
I did donate the leftover alcohol from last year’s event, to a new station that was starting to participate.
Today’s numbers are 65/81F, 20/28C with a60% chance of getting wet.
Enjoy your day!

Morning Martin & All from mixed clouds and Sun in Southern Utah!

Currently it is 46F, and heading for 70F. No breeze yet, but later the winds will be out of the SSW @ 16 to 21mph.

A good morning it isn't! I think I may have gotten 3 hours total sleep. Friday night, I found that the clean up on the Tacoma oil was not just from a messy mechanic, or maybe it was, but not what I thought. More oil has seeped out, so it's back to the shop tomorrow. But what was keeping me awake is, what is causing the leaking. One thought was the "Young Mechanic" thought he was going to fix the oil seepage he saw by tightening up the bolts to the oil pan, causing the leak. Then I thought, what if... He tightened the bolts too much and striped one or two, or broke off one but it wasn't broken off completely or... :cautious:

Well Chris is up, time for some boiled eggs...

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Good Morning, Thanks Martin, for Coffee, where's the picture of zeGF's bike? Speaking of bikes today's agenda is to Ride "Lady" some where. Obo, Spring is that two moments of poor Sledding, before the Mosquitoes come out. Weather is perfect for a ride, Sunny 4 C and getting warmer, so will take pictures and see y'all tonight, have a great one G

G'dafternoon from SoMD! I've been up since 0900, but the first time was 0625...you know the drill...herd fed, back to bed. I need an anti-alarm clock, something that puts me back to sleep if I get woken up. Made myself some delish huevos ranchers along with the coffee offerings, thanks Martin!

The garage is wide open to let in the warmish 55F/13C air, but still overcast. Got the green hedge trimmer fuel lines rethreaded, hooked em up backwards (I had a 50/50 chance, it's why I don't gamble much), but it starts. Just need to fish the fuel filter out and stick on the right tube end and adjust the carb screws. Also got the ST started today, a little lumpy at first but settled in smooth after a moment. So, a good start to the day so far. What else? I dunno but probably a dog walk at least. Oh, the possibilities!

Take care y'all!
