Summon the dark elixir of sanity posthaste,
my spirit wanes most pitifully... :coffee:

G'Day...

3°/11°C, a bit misty in the morning, should remain mostly sunny during the day... 🌞

Studies show that coffee is 63% more effective when you dramatically sigh before every sip you take... ☕

Upon arriving at the workplace I got ambushed right at the entrance...
Building construction plans are printed on tiny sheets, measuring only 33 x 47+ inch... the obvious reason they are constantly "lost" by them workers... 😖
3 folks yapping loudly over each other that I urgently need to print them... again... now... :cautious:

Since the boss-man was present/in audible distance I responded no less loud:

not heated the office is...
cold the monitor feels...
thus no picture it has...
so to wait you will have...

(that Samsung ultra-wide suffers issues below 18°C/64°F...)

Once that was dealt with, I was finally able to consume my office Nescafé somewhat peacefully... ☕

But hey, we're halfway through the week! 😎

Thx for coffee and giggles Martin!

Another day of 7˚c/45f, 15mph breeze from south will turn into 45mph from north later, overcast.

Sons girlfriend arrived late last night, this will be celebrated with shrimps and wine later today.
The next days are public holidays over here, so tonight is kind of a Friday….I know, wankers!

Yesterday I walked up to the mystical shed I found last year.
Still haven’t found anyone who knows the story behind it.

Today is still open to suggestions.

Have a calm one!
Stu

Good morning everyone

thanks for the coffee, Martin. I can relate to the ambush story, as it used to happen to me on a routine, regular basis. Once, after a half-hour or more of standing there with my hat and coat still on, I interrupted to ask plaintively "Can I please at least reach my desk and take off my coat?"

It's 68°F and kind of humid feeling in Rockville. The high will be in the mid 80s with chances for scattered light rain around 1800 hours.

We'll head to a Civil War battlefield for a while today- not sure yet whether it'll be Gettysburg or Antietam- for our main outing, with possible side trips hither and yon. I'll need to get a tank of $4+ / gallon gasoline first, though. I know, I know, I know: elsewhere it's $5, $7, or perhaps even $10 per gallon so I recognize my relative good fortune that it's "only" $4. That doesn't make it any more enjoyable to release the cash.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Thanks for the start and midway indeed it's a ...
Sanpellegrino Cherry and Lime Italian Sparkling Drink Ciliegia and Limone [that's Cherry and Blossom] with Mediterranean Fruit Juice
100% Natural Ingredients and Intense Taste...
Let's turn the can to the side and see what's really in there...
Water, Sugars, concentrated cherry juice, concentrated lemon juice, carbon dioxide [yum yum, makes everything go down good] black carrot concentrate and natural flavor
Goes down actually not too bad,
We're about 6 or 7 out there with some on again off again rain might see a bit of mainly sun by Monday and could get to 21C :run1:
That emoji makes no sense at all
Was that winter? Did I sleep in?
Looking forward to a long weekend here as well we get the Friday as well as the Monday so it's a good break
Rain at the moment, got out on the ST late in the day yesterday which was parked outside so had a good excuse for a rip before bringing will get it out this weekend between some more
spring cleaning
Wish everyone a safe long or short weekend whichever you got
[edit] we were $2.17 for regular yesterday so I imagine we'll be $2.45 or better for premium so that might work out to $9.25 a US gal [I like that better than 91 or 94 octane.. makes you feel like you're getting something really good]IMG_0501.jpegIMG_0500.jpegIMG_0499.jpeg

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee Martin.

Hambush you say? Did you know those come from hedgehogs?

Sitting at zero here, but the rain seems to have stayed liquid rain so far, and not freezing rain. Some nearby places have had a different experience I'm told. Should pop up to +2, so I'm hoping it stays as rain.

It's April Fool's Day here, so I'm sure you'll all fit in, just like I do.

Enjoy!

Obo.

Yeah...
over here media spread panic by going wild with headlines like "... fuel prices soon exceeding € 3,-/ltr...?!", which would be >€ 11.34,-/gal US...
The state's job placement agency lament that their unemployed "clients" bluntly reject interview appointments & vacant positions over high fuel prices...
(I for one fear more the long term impact in the food shelves...)

Only because some profiteers wanted to speculate on the stock-market... right... :cautious:

When you say "right" you're speculating on this?

Food for though.

(Guess that's why some people starve...)

Meanwhile, if an 8 US fluid oz of coffee costs $1, that's $16 a gallon - or $672 per barrel (42 US gallons).

*slurp*

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's partly cloudy and 54 rising to 70 later. We'll get some random rain showers this morning, tapering off, later.

Yesterday, I didn't do much, except for calling the VA to kick off whatever treatment will happen. The Ortho office called, and needs a document from VA before they can make an appointment. I think I'll be on crutches for a bit...

Today, I'll head over to the track in Thompson to flag for "The Club". We'll see how well that works out and what station I can comefortably work.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the start, Martin. Do you miss the days when the ammonia had to warm up for a half hour in the blueprint machines? It gave you plenty of time to enjoy your coffee while everyone waited for their copy.

64/79, partly cloudy. Very slight chance of shower this afternoon, although the morning air smells damp.

Has anyone noticed that as long as drivers are accepting the $5/ gallon price, there seems to be no shortage?

Another note. If you’re paying $2.85 for a bottle of Smart Water, it ain’t workin’.

John

We had a blueprint machine at home, but it used water and a chemical instead of ammonia. My dad used to sell them, and he brought an old one home for my mom to use in the kindergarten she ran in our basement. From what I remember it used water mixed with a solution, and a long light tube. I think it also used light sensitive paper.

Never had those, inkjet plotter... still slow as 💩 running uphill...
Doesn't matter as the plans had been printed, but those imbeciles obviously throw them away (likely after having their lunch on them...)...

Yeah, the original was placed over the light sensitive paper (4 x 6ft) and then run under the light, which burned off everything that wasn’t under the shadow of the lines drawn. The next pass went through the vapor and turned the paper blue. The paper was always wrapped in black plastic and kept in a large file drawer.

It went in the dumpster when we purchased a plotter. The next place I worked, trashed a large ink-jet plotter just because they couldn’t find a print driver for Windows and nobody knew Unix.

Morning all! Grey and wet out there. The weather network says it's 8C but feels like 4C. The "high" will be 9C.

Back after a little over 2 weeks off; I had to burn accrued leave before the fiscal year end of March 31st. Managed to get the odd project done including requisite regular mid-morning inner eye lid examinations.

Hope everyone has a great day!

@STooRay
If I’m thinking correctly, this appears to be a blind to shoot/hunt from!
Are there any animals that have an open season that could be hunted from said shed?
WB

Deer, Elk, fox, hare, the occasional moose, all very restricted, thus the hidden shed perhaps..?

Most likely it’s what @Obo said….episode 24.
