last night ze GF checked the installation of her SENA for proper speaker position in relation to her ear channels...
seems to work, she popped/head-banged while playing tunes from her phone... at full blast... ;)
yeah, the oncoming Sat/Sun ride should do us good... :radleak:

made a VRF layout for an AMAZON facility, architect insist on indoor units with only 1.5kW/5.2BTU/h... :unsure:
how that's supposed to work with only 4 indoor units in an area like their OPS office, 150m²/1600ft² with 26 persons + office equipment & building loads is beyond me... 🫤

37 with some snow showers rising to 45.

I had to content myself with half cup of black coffee, before we leave for the hospital.
I got a call from the podiatrist, yesterday, to make an appointment to follow up on my foot issue, and I'm going there the monday after my surgery follow-up. I've been expecting that I'll have to juggle things a bit.
Good news is that after my follow-up on May 1, I'll head over to the VA to have the staples removed.

It's 51°F and mostly cloudy in Rockville. Later it'll be 73 with chances (but less than 50/50) of scattered light rain showers.

This morning, after I finish my coffee, I'll apply the stain to the credenza / hutch thingy I'm refinishing, and set to work cleaning up the rest of the piece. But not until I'm done with my coffee. So it will be a while.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.
 
Good morning from the north shore of lake Erie . Shaping up to be an incredible day here ,warm and sunny . I need to put snowblower away finally and get the St out for the spring maintenance and a ride . Sold my FJR hopefully and it will be nice to have some space back in the shop . Lawn stuff is getting behind ,grass is getting deeper with all our rain . Take care ride safe and have fun EH !

I'm sorry for all you sick, lame and lazy types (old Navy slang for sailors who were excused for duty due to medical reasons)... I'm praying for the surgeries, injuries, and the wounded hearts.
WithOUT sarcasm, surprisingly enough.
My sister in Nashville had a birthday, so I called but had to leave a message.
When she later returned my call, I learned she was in GA at that sister's house, and our other sister from CT was also there.
I know, it's hard to keep up with all of that.
So CT had come down for a visit to our inherited farmland property in North AL, to meet with a Forest Service official tomorrow.
Apparently, if the land is reclassified as forest land, rather than its current "real estate" designation, we can save hundreds of dollars per year in property taxes.
It's only raw land now, but heavily wooded.
Used to be used for our grandad's dairy herd for grazing.
All that to say I'm taking tomorrow off, and will meet her and the Forestry guy to see what's up.
I haven't been up to the old farm in two years, and I haven't seen Karen since that time.
Uninteresting detail... there were four of us offspring, I'm the oldest, and Karen is the youngest sister.
I should say, there ARE four of us, as we're all still kickin'.
Our parents and their parents are all gone now.
But I do remember lots of good times on the farm when I was a kid. Unlike lots of young kids, I know where milk really comes from, as well as steak, burgers, sausage, eggs, chicken breasts, and bacon.
And vegetables.
And ...horse sh!t.
Fortunately, though, I never had to eat horse sh!t.
Just so you know.
And farm life has contributed much to our English language.
“You reap what you sow.”
"Don't count your chickens before they're hatched."
Even racy ones:
"Useless as tits on a bull".
You can think of many others, I'm sure.

Never guessed I'd be an employee all over again but I guess you never know it works while it works I guess
Staring up a dead horses arse was always my favorite; I did spend some time horseback riding as a kid which was more
a lesson in how to shovel out a stall with a horse trying to squeeze me against the wall wasn't anymore in cotrol riding
him either.... I like horses, the maintenance wouldn't bother me but I wouldn't ride them again
Looks like 17 18 around the lower mainland this weekend and clear sunny weather so it will defiinitely cloud up friday
afternoon might get the final carb adjustments on the VStar down and get it rolling

When my Dad was born in 1925 (fifth of what turned out to be eight kids) my grandparents moved the family from their small Kansas town to a farm a few miles out of town, and took up farming as a supplement to Granddad's income as a Postal employee.

Somewhere along the line, Grandma was teaching school and learned that at least some of the town kids had never seen butter made, something that was a regular, routine chore on the farm.

She brought in the family churn and the requisite amount of cream, and had the kids go through the process. One kid asked, in all seriousness, "When it's done, will it be butter or margarine?"

Morning Martin & All from clear, but :wind1: , Southern Utah!

Currently it is 48, and heading for 61F. The winds have been blowing since yesterday and they don't look like they'll be letting up today! :mad: They are blowing from the SSW@ 17 to 22mph. And later they'll get stronger, coming from the WSW @ 21 to 33mph. Oh joy, it makes working in the back yard a real PIA! :well1:

@steve3b3, hoping all turns out okay.
@Obo, tweaked backs are no fun, take it easy and heal soon.

I attempted to work on the lower part of the shed and covering up the foot of height I added, but it didn't work out as I had hoped. So I have another idea that I'll try. At least, I can work in the big shed and be out of the wind.

I'm waiting for Chris to wake, so we can get some breakfast. Pepsi(s) on the list at some point.

The bottom of the greenhouse could be solid clad on the outside. No real need for something transparent, other than aesthetics.

You'd just need some flashing to go between the base and the greenhouse to prevent water ingress. Aluminum strips, tar paper, etc. Let your innovation direct what you use. Just aim for the desired outcome of any regular flashing where a wall meets a foundation.

In a perfect world, the base would have been a bit smaller, allowing an inch or so of the greenhouse to overhang, creating a natural drip lip.
 
Morning all! Sunnyish here with some cloud. 13C now, 15C later.

Working from home as the Outlaws arrive tomorrow so wanted to be able to help get things ready.

Received a review letter from Canada Revenue Agency asking me some questions about my latest return. Unfortunately, while I can get the gist, it's all in french so I had to call them to ask for an english version. As I say, I can guess what they're talking about but when dealing with the Revenooers I prefer to be absolutely certain.

Steve, hope all goes well with a speedy recovery!
