Good morning all! French roast is in the pot, Pepsi in the fridge.

I double checked to make sure it was both May and Thursday, so there's no "where's Waldo" repeats from a few days ago.



8C and mostly cloudy for the ride into work, headed to 14 and sunny for the ride home. Quite a difference from yesterday's muggy heatwave of just over 30, and there's a frost warning out for tonight of just above freezing. Can you say swing baby?

Thanks for putting the coffee on Obo! Yes, a bit cooler today, good for mowing grass. Two lawns to do today, and one tomorrow. Later, I'll continue my planning toward getting the first two days riding routes laid out for WoodSToc in August.

It's a cool-feeling 65°F and gradually falling, cloudy, and wet in Rockville. Light rain is expected today beginning (actually, re-starting as we had a thundershower yesterday evening and more rain overnight, dropping about 0.25" total) around 1000 and continuing until 1100 on Sunday. It makes a momentarily pleasant change from the recent heat (wow, I'm complaining about that already? after kvetching about the unseasonably cool weather we've had for most of the month? there's just no pleasing some people, I guess)

Thursday = ukulele group day. Before that I've got a check-in call scheduled with our financial advisor, and this evening it'll be online bridge with relatives.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

It's 60, rising to 65 with some light rain in the area.

We didn't do much, yesterday, due to the heat.

Today, I'll head to the track in Thompson for a car event, which will run until 7:30.

Well today the movers are expected to make an appearance. I’m not sure yet, exactly what that is going to mean for travel plans for my Sister & I??
I expect there will be things to keep us busy once they have loaded up & started their run to Nova Scotia. It looks like I’ll have a reasonable return date to arrive back home. I’m going to see about a meetup with “our Obo,” once I get ready to head home.
Currently 72F headed to 94.

Congratulations to the hawk, sez me. They work hard for the money, and I wouldn't miss the squirrel.
Nonetheless, I'm sorry for your loss, John. But it means the birds may have more to eat.
Like others nearby, the rainy days have come to stay a while, interrupting my blissful -- not ignorant -- series of lovely, if not perfect, riding days.
Meaning Kaiser stays home, as he has no rain gear, unlike me.
Yesterday was my dental followup, not the day before as I had told you. They packed a bone graft in the hole that used to hold a tooth, then put some kind of cover over the hole, then held that in place with stitches.
So I did fill the pain reliever prescription this time.
A three-car collision reduced traffic to one lane, so I was almost 15 minutes late to the appointment.
And life goes on.
Until it doesn't.
So let's not take it for granted.

68/78, with periods of showers all day. Yesterday’s showers turned part of the yard back to its usual green.

Since I feed all birds, I don’t begrudge yesterday’s hawk attack. I just hate having to use a squirrel as the middleman for the feedings.

I did manage to get some hanging tree limbs trimmed and moved to the brush pile, now that I can get a burn permit after the rain. Now to find an arborist to climb tree in the back yard to remove some ice damaged limbs. I didn’t notice the broken limbs until I was over at the neighbor’s house, and could see the top of the tree. What’s the old saying? Can’t see the limbs, for the trees?

Good Morning, thanks Obo. Rise and shining at 6:00 hours, yeah right, More like staggered out of bed. Breakfast was good, eggs on toast, yolks still liquid, and bowl of Rice crispy's and 2 cups of the most important COFFEE.
Sunny 50 F high of 70 F by 3 pm. Unfortunately I have two things to do today that will keep me from riding today. Pump number One ain't pumping ( Avgas station has two pumps) hopefully it's just a stuck float , was last time it stopped working. Second thing is sell / deliver flail mower. Which was yesterday's project, make chains to pick it up with the Tractor bucket, Mower is heavy . Hopefully the new owner gets a pickup truck today. I could deliver it to them on the Motorcycle trailer, but with gas being 225 a litre I want to make sure they buy it. 72 kilometers to Chilliwack and 72 kilometers back home. Van roughly gets 18 mpg hauling the trailer. ( Where's the calculator) Well time to make it happen, Take a risk, but be safe G

Morning Obo & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 58F, up from 35F and heading for 75F. No breeze yet, but later the winds will be out of the WNW @ 15 to 21mph.

It looks like we now have our true Spring. I see one day that drops below 70F in the forecast, but of course, all subject to change without notice! But I think I'll take the chance and put the snowblower, in the shed and free up my garage space.

I was able to get out and mow & trim the lawns. I also set up the planter I built last week, so it's kind of two tier. So I have two blocks high on the lower part and three high on the upper part. I'll add some more dirt in the three block part, then put down the landscaping cloth, plant our Japanese Red Dragon tree and set up the water on it. And if I still have any energy left, I'll head down to Home Depot and pick up a few bags of mulch to spread over the landscaping cloth.

Once Chris is up, we'll get some breakfast. And later, I'll grab a Pepsi or two out of Obo's fridge!

0645 was the beagle's call to bladder this morning. So, I started my day a little early. Herd fed. Self caffeinated with whatever I can get. Thank you, Obo! 67F/19C and cloudy. Another chance for rain/storms this afternoon.

I was angry at the heavens yesterday! We were also supposed to get rain and storms that Keith reported. I watched them on radar while at work so I could time my departure to avoid them. I was able to leave at my usual time and a colleague even gave me a ride so I didn't have to walk to the parking lot, saving 15 minutes. I get on the road and traffic was heavy but not unusual, until...everything was just about stopped. I crawled along, barely having to blip the clutch. I sat there for at least 30 minutes when normally I'd be through the worst.

Then...pit...pat...PITPAT...I let out a groan as I'd opted to not don my rain gear. But then...it stopped. I sighed relief, but I knew it wasn't over. I crept along another 20 minutes, and then pit pat pitpat again. I finally and for once gave in to go against my rule of not using the shoulder. I wasn't going to sit there and get dumped on. I waited for a break in the cars and went for it as the heavens kept spitting on me, more than the first wave tease, but not an all-out downpour I knew was coming.

I rode at least a half mile, dodging rocks, tire shreds, and other various car parts that this road collects. Then turned off onto the next side road that essentially parallels my normal path. It too was pretty full of traffic but at least it was moving, signalling to me that whatever was the blockage it was before my road's intersection. And as I'm riding the rain subsides again...thinking I've outrun it. Sure enough, I rejoined my main road well past the incident. I could've turned on at the previous light but I couldn't see and GPS wasn't showing me. I make it home and get the bike into the garage to keep it dry, and...nothing. All night. NOTHING. Any cells that had formed had dissipated before they got to me. We got zero. I hustled home for nothing. NOTHING!

As for today, it's WFH then unknown since the weather doesn't even know what to do. Maybe try to walk the dogs during a break or get some leaves raked up. Dunno.

Morning all! Sunny, blue sky, some high cirrus clouds. 14C right now, 18C later.

"Working from home" today as I have to get ready for the trip east to Calgary. Bike should be ready by mid-afternoon I hope so that I can get it home and start packing and loading it. That way, I can just don gear and head out first thing to catch the 6 am ferry to mainland.

I've been obsessively checking the weather via the Environment Canada site along the route and looks like it should be a perfect day for riding all the way. Coming home, the long range forecast is not quite as comforting; Rain is expected from Calgary to Revelstoke at least. I may peel north from Highway 1 and head up the Icefield Parkway to Jasper on the ride home. Then down to Kamloops and link back up with Highway 1 there. It adds a couple hours to the trip but it's gorgeous countryside, most of which I haven't seen so the pull to see it is strong.
