Testify. He also stated that if any non-aggressive problem was found, he probably skip treatment because the treatment is worse than the condition.
There are times, especially summertimes in Alabama, when it is actually cooling and refreshing to be soaking wet and riding on the roads. With regards to riding in foul weather, some say that once your're soaked you can't get any wetter.

, have a great day on the roads!
Bob, fancy new avatar you got there. That going on the back of the new T shirts?![]()
If the upper tank is being removed sure, otherwise I don't concern myself with how much fuel is in the tank.Best to go ride and get the fuel level at two bars 1ST.

Very true. While this is a possibility that is not a desirable outcome as it is potentially dangerous, there is also no reason for it to be a likely occurrence whenever the upper tank is being raised. A rupture of this hose is influenced more by a failure of procedure and/or of preventative maintenance, and not something to be overly concerned about if neither of these conditions have been allowed to exist. There is the rub. The tricky part is making sure that neither of those conditions do exist, as we don't always do everything that we should do when we should do it.Unless you break the hose between the upper and lower tank....
Splish splash, I was takin' a bath.
Correct you are, this has been reported often. The question I would ask is if always ensuring that the upper tank is always empty is a case of treating the symptoms. Never lifting the upper tank unless it is empty allows for conditions where the results of poor procedure, and lack of preventative maintenance where applicable, can more easily allow a damaged hose to go undetected. There is no fuel to leak out, so no leak is detected during the maintenance procedure. The damaged hose only rears its ugly head later when the motorcycle is being refuelled, and when gas leaks out on to an extremely hot engine sitting under it, and while it is sitting at an explosive fuel station.@Andrew Shadow I agree maintenance and procedure matter. I've just read about more than one person who thought the tank was back properly / seat adjuster in the maintenance position when lifting it, and it wasn't. This seemed to be a main cause of failure when the hose kinked / pulled as a result. You'd have more luck telling someone to make sure the upper tank was empty, if even due to weight. While that won't guarantee they wont damage the hose, it does prevent a more hazardous fuel spill scenario.
