Bike
ST1300P
Hello everyone. Just picked up my first ST.
a 2009 ST1300P. Picked it up from a local dealer yesterday. Unfortunately, the bike did not come with an owner's manual. got online and downloaded a copy
Attached is picture of the throttle side switch block. The online manual does not show a switch configuration that looks anything like this. 5 numbered functions that I suspect
have something to do with the law enforcement spec. Can anyone help me out with what these switches do if anything. I apologize in advance for the marginal cell phone pic
thanks

As noted by @Willsmotorcycle, the decommissioning process varies. Often, the PD mechanic will simply cut the wiring harness that connects proprietary department accessories (radios, colored lights) and leave the wires hanging. In these cases, a civilian owner will have to trace the wires in order to make the multiple switches functional for reuse.

That factory switch is really very useful for neatly controlling additional lights and aftermarket accessories.

Thanks. maybe I'll wire in some forward facing rockets and machine guns and a rear smoke screen.

Congratulations on the new ride.

Depending on how it was decommissioned, only the "lighting switch" (6,7,8) should function for you, its the headlight and parking lights in the OEM configuration.

Interesting how the function layout on the ST1300P differs from the ST1100P, which had interaction with 4 additional buttons below the glove-box in the LHS infill panel...
