at least he was continuing 10~20kph over posted, so I was able to withhold that urge of passing him on the right... 😉

Thanks for the start, Martin.

It's 71°F and cloudy in Rockville, could be 82 and v-e-r-y humid once again (as it has been Monday and yesterday) later on. Humid as in "if you go outside everyone will think you've gone swimming because when you come back in you'll be wringing wet" humid.

My cardiologist was pleased to see that I'd dropped 19 pounds in the six months since my last visit. only another 60 to go.

I've got the usual late afternoon half-a-round of goof followed by dinner with the fellas, not sure what I'll do before that but it'll pass the time whatever it is.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.
 
Morning all, and thanks to the starter-upper: Martin.

12C for the ride into work, headed to 24 and mostly sunny for the ride home. I towed the mono-wheel trailer in to work, just for something different. We'll see if I get any comments from coworkers, which will depend on if anyone's in the office today. There are days where there are just 4 or 5 of us. Thee were days where there were just over 200 of us here, but then Covid hit and folks were allowed to work from home. Some are still allowed to do that, either part or full weeks. Me? I'm only allowed in person. Guess I'm special.

BTW commute...

at 0700hrs the way from ze GF's place to the office (green) goes rather fluent; bike 20~25 min, car 40~45 min...

going the other way at 1700hrs (red) however requires some inventions combined with ruthless filtering practices to bypass all the rush-hour congestion/roadwork holdups; bike 40~45 min, car?!... pfffff... way over an hour... 🤨

It's sunny and 60, rising to 84, later.

The visit to the VA went well, and I can answer the phone and hear music through my hearing aids again. It took all of 10 minutes for the audiologist to get the phone to pair. Then again , he does this stuff for a living. I got there early , even though I had to be reminded after the Argentina/Egypt Futbal game.

Brenda and I hadn't had breakfast , yet, so we went out to lunch , instead.

Since yesterday was a rainy day , we stayed indoors watching futbal.

Today, I've got another appointment at the VA, this time with a physical therapist for my Achilles tear.

G'mornin' from SoMD! A quick jolt and half a bagel before I ride in to the office. Thanks, Martin, for keeping me able to walk amongst other humans even though several really stretch that category.

73F/23.5C up to 83F today. Mainly cloudy with rain clouds sprinkled lightly around the radar. I might get spat upon but it is unlikely. Not much else. Need/ought to get garage stuff done while the heat is broken outside, we'll see. Disappointed I won't get to go see Big Boy before it leaves the area but it's my own fault. At least I know that 4012 is in Scranton now on static display...better than nothing.

When the personal quadcopter becomes more affordable and ubiquitous, your commute will be much quicker.
No roads needed.
But parking may still be an issue...
For some odd reason known only to the universe, toss was the second double-drip day in 2 weeks. The coffee filter just folded under pressure, and the grounds clogged the drip valve.
Got it cleared and fixed in a much more efficient manner than the last time, and coffee flows again.
First success of the day!
Well, the second success, to be accurate, as I will consider waking up alive as the first.
No need for a local weather report, it's just SITS*.
No problem taking the pedestal fan apart yesterday, and 2 small RokStraps held it to the Mule just fine. It's not heavy enough to be a problem, only an awkward shape.
Cat breakfast will be served in 12 minutes. What I mean is, I will feed the cats breakfast.
Because I never, ever, EVER! intend to eat a cat for breakfast. And I hope you don't, either.
So, I'll get rolling along with my Wednesday, and here's hoping you do as well.

I always joke, that I'm too lazy to carry any more weight than necessary. I'm about 10lbs heavier than I was in high school, and my weight doesn't vary but maybe 3lbs, week to week. That's not a brag.
People occasionally ask how I stay so thin... sometimes I tell them it's simple: Tapeworms.
But I don't say that to everyone, sometimes it's not appropriate to kid that way.
Oh yeah, I said it's time for me to leave.

Most of the time my money would go on the cat. Even the friendliest, most mild-mannered feline can turn into an angry, snarling, hissing ball of fury equipped with razor-sharp talons in an instant, when provoked.

Yeah sometimes it how you say things; bought a four foot with a straight blade on the end was standing in line when a guy behind me with a heavy accent asked "what are you gonna do with that?"
I looked him straight in the eye and calmly replied "vampires..." He actually nodded so yeah, sometimes you don't have to say anything at all to get one wondering

Will get to the landscape store here right away to get the rest of my retaining wall blocks to build up along the new fence line compliments of the developer next door

When's the last time a developer every promised a new fence for an adjacent lot owner and actually delivered? My finishing touches are a far cry from that fortunate situation but those blocks are
eighty pounds; twelve in the trailer and I got about an inch and a half of travel left

It's all win win, will have the extra 150 square feet of my lot where there used to be trees for the last twenty five years. No more pesky trees on the corner to provide shade and carbon dioxide and privacy and
birds and all that crap; now I can look into nine condo windows and see what people are doing. It's like Hollywood Squares :laugh:

They had no cause to cut down the trees at all other than the convenience to use part of the area for construction staging; since they were partially on a strip along side of us they owned
[and gratefully ultimately became a "dedication" to the municipality] they exercised their right to knock them down

Glad we were able to keep the ones on the other corner; they block the view of about nine more, and the funny thing is a year after occupancy, guess which units sold and which ones haven't

Progress - you can't stop, well you know...

Good Morning, thanks Martin. Wife and dog came home last night, so have to be quiet in the morning again. Opened the gate and have had Breakfast, will figure out what I need to do after my second cup of coffee. Scattered clouds and wind , forgot to charge the phone last night so no temperature reading yet. Warm enough that I didn't need a Jacket to open the gate. I do know one thing, have ordered brake pads for the Van so will have to pick them up, when my Parts guy calls. Picked up a new fuel filter for the bike yesterday so have to figure out when to install it. Planning to clean gas tank and carbs at the same time. Well not much else to say but have a wonderful day G

Hey Martin, you do make me feel grateful for being retired, at one point my ride home would take over two hours. About the same kilometers.
 
Morning all. Sun with cloud here, currently 17C with a predicted high of 23C...I have my doubts, I expect it will get higher than that.

Working from home today as the tree people (there's tree of them) are here to take down the large maple that has decided to start dropping limbs.

As for commutes, you could always try this.

Morning Martin & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 88F, heading for 93F, but we'll be down in ST George for a Costco run and it's supposed to be 107F! :cautious: Winds are already blowing and they'll be stronger later, so we'll be looking at them from the SW @ 17 to 30mph.

I got my shelve up in the tractor shed, tomorrow, I'll start moving things back in.

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ for the morning start. Pepsi(s) for later.

Let's just say, the cats have drawn more scratchy-blood from Kaiser, than they have incurred Kaiser teeth marks. (That long German Shepherd nose sticks way out there, especially when compared to a cat nose.)
He won't bite.
Just wants a closer look and smell.
