Three coffees a day keep the insanity away... :coffee:

G'Day...

12°/26°C, partially cloudy in the morning, sunny in the afternoon... 🌥️⛅🌤️☀️

topped the cat off (priority one of course) and consumed some Nespresso at ze GF's place... ☕
she had installed the trail-cam to observe what the critter is up to during the night...
definitely a nocturnal being, seriously active after 0200hrs, conquering dining table and kitchen counter... bad, bad cat! 🧐
So I've hid some aluminum foil on those 'landing zones'... that's gonna be fun! 🤣

already at 0630hrs traffic overview showed seizure/holdups southbound due a fender-bender, I filtered by all the backlash and by the time I was at the scene, it was already cleared...
northbound was however now seized by rubbernecks still glaring... 😒
BTW was it a firefighter's MB Sprinter van who hugged the fast lane today... this time I dealt with that obstacle rather quick... ;)

office, dull, Nescafé... :coffee:

as expected did it take me one hour to get across town north last night... even on a motorcycle... not to imagine how long it would have taken by car... 😒
Traffic volume, obstructions due roadworks, people get erratic, causing accidents, instead of clearing the lane ASAP, they stand right there arguing... pfffff...

Entertaining episode by a Skoda EV trying to race me... 😆
Must have filtered by/ahead of that thing a few intersections before, still fuming he/she tried to get ahead obviously attempting to cut me off... no real opponent for a 32 year old ST... 😎

ze GF moaned that she wants to do a ride this weekend, so I'm gonna plot a route... likely Sunday, as I need to tune both ST's to be ready for the dreaded MOT...

a weekend is dawning, soon... 😎

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin. I had always figured that m/c filtering, being common and legal behavior in Europe, wouldn't provoke cage drivers. Once again, that's a proof of what happens where you "assume".

It's a cloudy, stinking, muggy 73°F in Rockville; when I took the bins to the curb it felt like a sauna. I wasn't sure whether to breathe the air, or try to drink it. The high will be about 82 with rain chances from noon to 2100 hours, but the highest odds are in the 1600 to 1800 hours period.

Mrs. Fun is due to return this evening; I'll drive out to Dulles to pick her up, well after the end of evening rush hour. Before that uke group and before that, I really must actually play ukes at home for a while. I will NOT be venturing out on a bicycle today.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Morning all, and thanks for the startup, Martin.

15 and partly sunny for the ride into work, with 24 & light rain later on. We can use the water though, as things are quite dry.

Not much else planned, likely due to work. 🤷‍♂️

Got part of the lawn mowed last evening. The new mower makes fast work of it. Wonder why I waited so long to get one. Think of all the time I could have saved to do nothing with. :rofl1:

Have a great day.

Obo.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee , Martin.

It's 64 and sunny in MA this morning, rising to 87 and becoming partly sunny, later.

Yesterday involved the gym , PT, and a First Tuesday makeup meet and BBQ with former coworkers from Bose. Some of the folks who we rarely see were tempted by the food , it seems.

Today, I'll hit the gym again and try for a walk, before it gets too hot.

Enjoy your day ,
Steve

Ha!
zis might apply in France, Italy, Spain and Portugal... highly attentive, instantly opening a gap...
Scots and Scandinavians are at least somewhat accommodating...
Once again, that's a proof of what happens where you "assume".
Indeed...

the following groups come to mind:
Talahons - millennia of fragile machismo... unpredictable as nitroglycerin on a bumpy road... (yeah, we need protection from those who came claiming to 'seek protection'... 😒)
Locals - a mentality mix of 'north German stickler/control freak' and 'Slavic temperament'... eaten by envy... "... I'll run you off the road with my Passat estate... "
Females - a class of their own, the pure definition of unpredictable... s.t.a.y. w.a.y. c.l.e.a.r. ... regardless if on foot, pushbike, stand-up-scooter, motorcycle or car... (best example: the 'late abortionists', pushing their baby-buggy 4~5ft out into the road, before confirming that an approaching vehicle would have just hit it...)

this is why I always (as a dear French friend of mine once defined it) 'flip my tongue a couple of times', and only involve in situations I'm 110% in control of...
unlike other, mostly younger riders, do I see no sense of putting the bike/myself at risk for ending up merely one or two cars ahead...
just this morning I observed some darting along with +120kph/75mph on the emergency lane to pass the dense traffic flowing at 60~80kph/40~50mph...
For what? Arriving at my destination like 3 minutes earlier?
If someone jerks on his steering wheel, over having dropped his phone, slapping kids/pets on the rear seat, etc... the road maintenance crew will have to pressure-wash me off the tarmac... 🪦

The first cut is the deepest... that is what the song tells us.
But the first cup is the sweetest.
Thanks Martin.
I left the pedestal fan at work, the A/C tech told us the mini-split has a coolant leak, but couldn't repair it yesterday. Another trip.
The Guys breakfast, usually on Friday, was moved to today, but i won't make it for my weekly hubcap. Roz has a banquet I'll be forced to attend this evening, meaning I'll have to leave work a little early, meaning I need to go in a little early.
And just who came up with the stupid rule of "can't wear jeans to a banquet"?
Pfffttt.
Supposed to be cooler today, not reaching 90, and dry all day (rain-wise) right up to the time I ride home... 30% chance of getting wet then.
Pfffttt.
A brief popup t-storm hit yesterday while I was unawares, and I had to dash out to try to cover the porthole where Kaiser pokes his head out, but it had already got a little wet inside. Fortunately, uncovering it later allowed the sun to dry it out... mostly.
I hate when that happens, as there is a short pile carpet on the interior. And if it doesn't completely dry, it stinks.
Whatever else I may have wanted to type will have to wait.
At which point I'll likely forget.
Because it obviously was very important. 🤣

Aftermath / quasi-EDIT:
Now I get it, @Obo .
Just heard on the radio that Bonnie Tyler has passed away today at 75yo, and I see that I didn't even read the caption in your link.
Her death aside, though, my previous statement still stands.
But I'll have to also admit that I can sometimes be more obtuse.

Morning Martin & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 83F, heading for 98F! (Which means we'll probably be over a 100F, by the time the days over! :nuke1: ) We have a slight breeze now, but later, the winds will be out of the SW @ 16 to 27mph.

RIP Bonnie Tyler! Too young to go... :(

Lane Splitting/Lane Filtering... HA! I really don't miss my commute, other than I got to ride my :bl13:! I do need to get out more!

The Costco run was successful, for Costco, we spent over $500. And survived the 107F.

Today, I'll try to see how much I can get moved out of the larger shed, into the tractor shed.

Eggs to be had, and Pepsi(s) to be drank...

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Good Morning Y'all, thanks Martin for coffee, and I agree the first cup of the pot is the sweetest. Time for a refill though,as my cup is empty. Cup number Two tasting good. 60 F with a high of 69 Mostly Cloudy but dry according to the phone. Hopefully next cycle of Anti- Cancer meds are available today cause tomorrow is forcasting wet stuff. Prefer taking the bike as parking at the clinic is a problem, similar to rut hour traffic.
Got the brake pads and right caliper installed on the Van, so now it stops straight. To anyone complaining about how heavy a ST1100 is,try lifting a 87 full size Dodge Van tire and wheel, Phffft . Grateful that I did manage to get the wheels back on, cause two years ago had trouble picking up a one gallon milk jug. All righty then , have a great day G
