code 25-26 knock sensor -ECM repair maybe!

There’s a guy over on the GL1800 riders forum called Fred Harmon that is fixing the same error on Wing ECUs. I wonder if it’s the same repair for the ST1300? Anyone contact him?

As far as I know, Fred does not repair anything other than GL1800 ECMs. He does not take international customers either.

There is a gentleman in Poland who repairs ECMs as well, and I often refer business to him for customer convenience and as a partnership, although I have not asked if he does ST1300’s.

Right now, I’m the only vendor who offers to repair them.
 
I know there has been a lot of discussion on whether or not this is a real fix or just a hiding of the symptoms.
Here is actual component level troubleshooting and testing of the modules that led to the fix and verification of said fix.
Use this information at your own risk to determine if this fix is right for you.
I had the code 25 when I first got my 2004 a few years ago but turns out the knock sensor connector was my issue.
When I had my issue I was looking at used ECUs, a micro-squirt controller and possibly replacing and re-pinning for a 2008-up ECU. After doing my research on this I would attempt this fix or have it repaired based on the results in the thread below. I studied and was an electronics technician with component level troubleshooting/repair experience in the late 90s/early 2000’s and if you have ever worked with a Navy electronics technician those guys are anomalies in the electronics world….make you feel like an imposter sometimes with their level of knowledge and troubleshooting skills. lol

Absolutely, the navy guys are awesome. I’m fairly sure that’s what @98valk was. I was an AE by basic education and worked a career in Unmanned Aviation electronics, so I got a slightly different flavor of electronics knowledge, but there are some similarities.

The "Results on Troubleshooting Bad '01 ECM" on the GL1800 Riders Forum is where the discovery and subsequent works are well documented
The documentation explanations and photos made throughout the process are excellent
If you got the sickness, you gotta read it - for free - before it gets gobbled up
