Good morning everyone

There's a pot of freshly-brewed Cubano dark roast by Mayorga sitting on the warmer, ready for you to enjoy. Please do.

It's 74°F and clear in Rockville right now, but the clear won't last as rain is possible between 1400 and 1600 hours. The high of around 84 will feel more like 96, so we're still in the grip of summer's last gasp.

Yesterday's round of goof was delightful, not so much for the level of my play but because of the fellow with whom I shared a tee time and cart. He was simply excellent company. I can only hope he felt the same.

I woke from an odd dream (they're all odd, when examined logically) this morning. The gist of the dream (or was it a nightmare?) was that I had agreed to return to a project I spent 15 years on, so as to rewrite a major tool and solve a couple technical bugs. My guidance was no more than "Make it easier to use". Yipe! I'm glad it was merely a figment of my subconscious and not reality.

No other news from here.

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Keith. It's much needed this morning.

I feel like I was hit by a truck, even though I got a dozen hours sleep. Guess those average 5 hours of shuteye a night lately has caught up.

Today will likely be another at work day, but not at my work, rather Mrs. Obo's. It'll be a free honey-help day, but does pay out in merit points. I'm sure I'll need those somewhere along the line when I get on her nerves. :)

Weather's an overcast 14 headed to 17, with the threat of more rain.

It's sunny and 60 in MA this morning, rising to 72 as it becomes partly sunny. We're told that there's a possibility for rain this afternoon.

Yesterday's drifting track event went off pretty well. We flagged the cars on the road course like a regular track day, while drifters on the skid pad made tire smoke 5 at a time. When it became time for them to drift on the road course, we came off track, and floggers from the drifting organization took over.

I did take the Wing to the track, since it was a nice day to ride a bit.

I haven't made plans for today , yet. The neighbour's dog could use a walk, as can I. I've also been meaning to get to Home Depot for some facia boards.
A ride is also not out of the question.

It's a late morning here, not waking until after 0830.
Nice.
Still hot here, even breaking a hottest day record a few days ago.
I've seen 100° several times on the ST and BMW onboard temperature displays, but usually at times where any attempts at making a photo would be dangerous, foolish, and life-threatening.
It is much easier for me to near the top of a hottest-day ride, than the elusive coldest-day ride list we've all seen.
I did get one pic at 108° this week, but could not eliminate all the glare.
Yesterday I had breakfast with the boy, at the diner, so I had no time to post... these idiots meet at 0630. This gives us an hour before we all join the throngs of morning commuters.
The fact that I call them idiots, is probably the only reason I was ever invited.
But at least they are nice idiots.
Found a mobile mower repair guy on farcebook, so I have hope of getting that young John Deere back into operating condition.
It would be really sweet to just sit and drink a cold beer while I cut the grass, as opposed to walking behind my new push mower. Especially on a day like today.
It's 87 now, but we're not yet seeing TEN on the clock.
The push mower doesn't have a cup / bottle holder, although I'm sure I could find or build one.
Still, it wouldn't be the same.
Stay hydrated.

Sadlsor ,Hottest temperature ride sounds like a good contest, personally I have survived 43 C / (according to Alexa) 109.4 F, getting gas at Boston Bar in the Fraser canyon a few years ago. Hopefully the town is still there after all the wild fires this summer. G
 
Morning Keith & All from mostly sunny Southern Utah!

Currently it is 75F, heading for a comfortable 81, but the winds are still with us and will be blowing from the SSW @ 21 to 39mph. Possible thunderstorm tomorrow, we'll see! :well1:

WeSTOC 30 Registration is now Closed! With 36 Signed up, but only 34 will be here. A week from tomorrow, folks will start showing up! Getting closer! :hat3:

Yesterday was "can tomatoes" day. We canned 11 quarts, but one of the jar lost the bottom section of it and we had stewed tomatoes floating in with the other jars! :nuke1:

I also printed and trimmed the WeSTOC 30 Badges, and placed them in their holders. Still plenty to do before it gets here!

Today, I'm not sure, I need to check the list and see what else I can do.

Chris made some hot cereal and I made the toast. Washed it down with OJ and Lemon Tea. Pepsi(s) on the menu for later.

Going to the track sounds exciting. My son has a drift car and belongs to an Ontario race group. This year it's been quiet for him because of a new career. He finished his welding program and is living about 5 hours north in a mining town called Sudbury.
If he comes south to some of the tracks I try to meet up with him. We are the 2 gear heads in the family.

Thanks for the Wake Me Up coffee Keith. It's a much more pleasant day here in Southern Ontario. Humidity is gone and it's going to be 24°C today. Not much going on this holiday weekend. We are still dog sitting after our beagle had his surgery. That'll be a few more weeks anyway until he's back in action. In the mean time he should be good to leave alone for a few hours while the wife teaches. At that time I'll be away on RollingCampStoc and ONStoc. I will certainly miss the little guy.

Good morning from the last person in line. 71 and yes that is the sun outside, maybe I'll have to mow the lawn.

Thanks Keith for making the brew for yet another day off. Yesterdays car part purchase turned into a return/refund as the tubes on the evaporator were not aligned properly. There was no way the expansion valve was going to fit or seal. No more in stock, so I'm waiting for a shipment to come in next week.

I left my original post, UN-posted, to retrieve and share this photo.
When I returned to my post, it was gone.
ALL gone.
So, disgusted, I didn't bother to retype it just to include the picture, while I went off for a coffee refill.
And to pout.
But wait!
I come back to the forum, check my alerts, and see responses to... my post.
That I thought had disappeared, eaten alive by the black holes that permeate the galaxy and the world wide web, where objects and ones and zeroes are vaporized, never to be heard from or found again.
The mysteries of our universe are endless.
And fascinating.
Not to mention, frustrating.
Like, why is it that my 10mm sockets are the only ones I can never seem to find?
You know how that goes, even if you can't explain it.
Now, maybe you can't clearly read the 108 due to the glare, but you can trust me.
EDIT: I was right about one thing... a cold beer tastes REALLY good, after walking behind the lawnmower in the back yard!

Hopefully, he can get back to the fun stuff now that his welding program is complete, and he gets established up north.
Drifting isn't something I'm into, but I can appreciate the skills involved in drifting a car around multiple turns, or in sync with 4 others.
