Repair shop recommendations around Sacramento, CA

It's been a while since I've posted and done any riding. I have an 2006 ST1300 purchased used in 2008 with about 3,000 miles. Currently has around 44,000. Although I rode throughout the year, my main ride was an annual trip with my uncles and father. Since they are all late 70's, early 80's and are no longer riding, I haven't done as much. Rides have become 2-3 times per year when I ride from Sacramento south to Fresno or north to Redding to visit a client. Haven't ridden, except around the block for 5 minutes, in the last two years. I'm considering selling.

Before I do that, I want to take it in for an inspection to see if there is anything I should do or be aware of if I do sell. The local Honda shop doesn't work on anything from 2006 and I'm hesitant to pick a local shop with out a recommendation. Also warry of online reviews. Anyone have any recommendations for a shop to do an inspection and possibly some work, if needed, in and around the Sacramento, CA area.

Is that a fine 55 New Yorker in your garage?

I do not have any shop recommendations...... I do have experience and expertise working on my 2 05 ST's.

Additionally I am a huge classic Chrysler fan. Have owned 2 58 Imperials.....and have helped a friend sort out her 55 Chrysler.

There are precious few mechanics around who know anything about these bikes, and fewer good ones. Many dealers, as you discovered, won't work on bikes older than 10 years and unless you find an independent mechanic who will read the Service Manual (as mine did) you are better off doing the checking yourself. You might check the RAN list - blue band atop this page > Riding > RAN Lists > US RAN List and check for any folks near you (Rider Assistance Network). Maybe you can find someone who will help you check out your bike. Most of the guys here do their own maintenance and/or hide and cherish the guy who works on their bike.
