Uncle Phil's Birthday Feast

As I have said before, I grew up pretty poor and birthday celebrations were just not an option.
So I decided when I was able I would have chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream and a big glass of milk on my birthday.
I figured if it killed me, I'd die with a big smile on my face and the undertaker would save money since I would already be smiling.
This year my birthday on the 13th came a little too 'close' to my six month blood draw/check up so I decided to postpone it.
Well, I had my blood drawn this morning and this is what I had this evening -

I am now slowly slipping into a mighty fine chocolate sugar coma .... ;)

Cocoa pods are classified as "legumes", so basically beans - last time I checked that's a vegetable.

Also:
"Cocoa beans provide antioxidants, fiber, magnesium, iron, and essential fatty acids, and they are linked to heart-protective and anti-inflammatory effects. They are also a source of flavanols that may support brain function and memory."

Looks to me like you're eating healthy, my friend! 😄

happy birthday Phil!

Your ice cream is all melted.

That milk glass is cool. Old?

My birthday request usually involves made by Mom or her recipe of chicken fried steak, creamed corn, mashed potatoes and gravy. Thick slice of buttered bread for a bonus.

Are those bottles of cake decorations in the back?

Happy Birthday Unc!

I once had a huge blood sugar spike and it scared the schmitt out of me. I had a desert at a restaurant of chocolate brownie/hot fudge/chocolate syrup-raspberries/whipped cream/shaved chocolate. Very tasty. Got home and lay down for a nap. Tried to get up and felt like I was in a centrifuge pulling Gs. First and last time that ever happened.

Oh! Did I mention Happy Birthday Unc?

Happy belated birthday. Is it belated if I also sent you birthday greetings on your actual birthday? Chocolate on chocolate was always my favorite birthday cake as well. My birthday was Tuesday but I didn't get cake this year. So sad!
