Before coffee I'm just a corpse... :coffee:

img_1_1791222545794.jpg

G'Day...

8°/18°C, soggy at 85% RH, overcast and chances of a few spritzer in the morning 💦 should clear up in the afternoon 🌤️

ze GF left for the office... 🏍️
me, feeding my caffeine dependency... :coffee::coffee:

had my appointment at the Chamber of Labor yesterday, presenting & documenting my case of still unpaid salary... 💰
they'll send an 'authority letter' declaring a last deadline, after that it goes to curt... 🏛️

The ST carried me there and back home reliable as always... the location of their office makes use of motorcycle mandatory...
With the city's hostility against its citizens they've killed hundreds of parking spots in the vicinity of that office, limited half of the
remaining spaces as [local residents only] zones (we would not like to not alienate the voters, would we...), and generally charge fees
for (car) parking within the entire city area...
So since there simply are no parking spaces for cars avail, you'd "get charged for a product you never receive"... 🙄
(now the city's treasury moans about loss of revenue, because hundreds of shops closing down due lack of customers,
as simply no one can drive nor park there anymore... the result of those glorified "car-free zones": boarded up shop windows...)

And another front opens... that dreaded online banking is raising its ugly head again...
after failing to provide the, by the bank required(!) Kobil Card TAN device thus forcing that banking App down my throat last year,
they now suddenly "request" me to buy a new phone... come again?!!... :cautious:
I instantly inquired if they are going to purchase that "oh so new phone" plus take over the annual provider fees for me, or what?!
After all do I have a perfectly working, € 800,- phone right here...
Seems those bank executives also hold shares of the phone provider corps... pfffff...

So, you end up in a city you can't move around anymore, nor can you access/manage your money... interesting times... 🤔

But we made it half way though the week... 😎

Morning all, and thanks for the coffee, Martin.

Something certainly does sound phoney err phishy about the bank.... they're all a bunch of MFA'ers now a days.

Weather's about the same here as there, 8C/12C but it's rain, rain and more rain. Cage is the method of transportation as a result.

Tomorrow though is supposed to be sunny. We'll see.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Obo.

Thx Martin, halfway indeed.
Your description fits Oslo…glad I live on this island.

Today’s agenda is replacing the winch strap on the boat trailer.
Oh, and yoga !!
Mrs Stu just started to give me yoga classes (she’s the teacher, and I’m the only participent..).
Will hopefully unstiffen the right bodyparts.
Don’t tell anyone, over here you can’t be a man and do yoga, not yet.

12˚c/54f, wind down to 20mph from everywhere, overcast.

Have good stretch!
Stu

From my fishing trip three days ago, islet named Ryvingen…

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's 59 with a bit of mist in the air this morning, becoming cloudy with peeks of sunshine later as the temperature rises to 71.

Yesterday, I managed a gym visit, then vegged out most of the day.
I did go down to the basement to clean up the mess I made during my last project(s).

Today, I'll head over to the VA for a PT session for my Achilles. Gym will come later, I'm sure.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Coffee goooood! Looking forward to my chiropractor appointment today that specialises in spinal traction to see if will be helpful with my personal engine light flickering. Thought of fabricating a bar in the garage to hang from. Probably a lot cheaper and more convenient.
The maple leaves are changing to all sorts of fall colours and blanketing the lawn with their colour. Although it looks nice I know it requires several weeks of raking and hauling to the compost pile. Soon the STeed will be tucked in for winter and given its annual physical.

Thanks Martin.
I get sad for Austria, when I read about their draconian regulations and manipulations. Although I've only been to your country 3 times, and not once in this century, I have thought each time, "this would be a beautiful place to live."
Doesn't seem nearly so beautiful now.
But y'all won't usually get 92° F. in the middle of October, but you will today in Birmingham.
Woo-hoo!
Finishing my coffee before going to work, where I'm cussing Gemini all week. It's acting like a nasty teenager (like I was), as it often ignores my directions, it lies to me, and has to be told more than once how to do stuff.
Maybe because I had become comfortable with chatGPT, and it had gotten to "know" me and was often sarcastic in our conversations, which I liked.
It's interesting working daily with a fake personality, yet there are conversations that are not unlike talking to a person.
But it's a dumb person, like a teenager as I said,... or maybe like a politician.
Don't see any clouds up there in the blue, and I do need to get to the office and slap the AI around for a while.
Have a good day, but for Pete's sake -- just be REAL.

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the caffeine, Martin. I started the day by taking my CR-V to Mother Honda for the software update they didn't have time to get to last week. I've given them all day today to find the 20 minutes the recall letter said would be needed, After dropping it off I loaded my coffee cup with their waiting room substance, which proved to be absolutely undrinkable swill. It got dumped partway through my walk home, and I've now made my own pot of tasty Cubano to get the job done.

It's 66°F and sunny in Rockville, going to get to a summery-feeling 87 or so this afternoon. We're on the Fahrenheit roller coaster, though: the highs for today and the next several are 87 > 63 > 82 > 56 > 57 > 61 > 65 > 68 > 70 > 70.

Having no motor vehicle available, I'll spend some time playing uke and maybe, just maybe, perhaps trundle off for a bike ride. But at the moment the ride seems unlikely. I also need to compare Medicare Part D pricing and coverage to the alternative offered by our present insurer, because I've only got a few days remaining to make that decision. Being open enrollment season, I do have access to information providers / counselors nearby, so perhaps that'll be the motivating factor to get on the bike after all.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

..."this would be a beautiful place to live."...
Yeah, looks can be deceiving... :cautious:

Situation declining ever-since we'd to join that dreaded EC...
massively accelerating and paired with significantly decreased public safety since 2015...

But where to go?
Neither Australia nor New-Zeeland would take us... unlike our administrations here, they stick to their strict immigration restrictions...

Only that my French is practically non existent...
(I manage to get my food, fuel and accommodation though...)
Work permit?
Guess I'll have to postpone the topic till my actual retirement...

Yeah, but how cool would it be to live in an igloo and have a pet polar bear or pet moose?

Morning all! Grey and wettish here, it rained overnight and there's been some spitting, the rain kind, not the grassy knoll kind (unexpected Seinfeld). Currently 11C, 15C for the ride home. Maybe with some sun, maybe not.

It's advanced voting day for the municipal elections here. The current fad appears to be the development of slates of candidates. Vancouver has had municipal parties for a while now and it seems that the idea is crossing the Salish Sea. Actual voting day is this Saturday but we will be across said sea so tonight after work is it. Which means some time will necessarily be spent reading various platforms of platitudes from the candidates; "Vote for real change", "Representation that listens". Pfffft. It reminds me of being involved in running volunteer organizations - lots of work, no pay and people fighting over things because there is so little to fight over.

In other exciting news, I have decided to grow a little bit of fur on the face. I got lazy over the long weekend and didn't shave for a couple of days and an impressive amount of growth appeared. Thought "what the heck, let's see where this goes....". Based on past experience, I expect down the drain in a couple days as the itching becomes intolerable...or the zits multiply....

Hope everyone has a great day and win with Willkie!

They imported that fine white sand and the beach furniture from the shores of the Gulf of America.
I don't know where they found the sun and the swimsuits, though...

Maybe from the southern shore of Lake America? Which, technically, is probably the only shore of said lake, as the opposite shore is on a lake of a different name...

Morning Martin & All from a damp, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 44F, up from 39F and heading for 54F, with some possible rain. Yesterday's morning snow, soon left us, but it stayed cold the whole day. Today, with this overcast, it won't get very warm at all. There is a slight breeze, but later the winds will be out of the N @ 9 to 14mph.

The Weather guessers were threatening us with frozen water pipes for last night, but I think the cloud cover kept that from happening. But on the ready side of things, I went out and finished covering exposed pipe and fittings.

Today is a Costco run day and that will do us in.

Eggs. bacon, toast, OJ & Lemon tea. Pepsi will be had on the road in ST George.

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
