Nov 5th 26, weather and mind enhancer...

When I worked at Collins Aerospace, one of the mechanical test guys got a new job at another company.
He needed a Secret Clearance, and he told me that it takes a year to obtain. He had to work in a different area until it was approved
I don't know how long ago that was, but today you can obtain an interim clearance in a day or so and a full one in a few months. The gov't pretty much already knows everything about you, you just need to make sure your answers on the SF-86 match theirs.

@SupraSabre Still no fridge. Not cool. Not cool at all.

My parents remember having ice delivered for your ice box, and I had relatives who were ice cutters and deliverers.

Thank goodness, I bought Chris a Ice Machine for her birthday or something... But it puts out plenty of ice in a day, so we are good that way. Also, our 24 year old fridge from our previous residence, is still working really good in the garage!

But it is a PIA without the Kitchen Fridge there! :cautious:

Maybe it HAS changed in the 10+ years since we've talked.
It surprised me at the time. I didn't think my TS clearance took as long, but I never got in a position where it was necessary until about 3 years into my Navy service.

TS is much more involved, so you may still be right....maybe not a whole year though.
