Brief Yosemite ride

I felt the need to take some vacation time this past week, and the further need to go for a ride somewhere. So Tuesday I rode down Hwys 49 and 120 to Yosemite National Park. I camped overnight at Hodgdon Meadows (just inside the park) after a late afternoon jaunt up to Glacier Point. On Wednesday I rode over Tioga Pass to Hwy 395 to Hwy 89 over Monitor Pass, and Hwy 88 over Carson Pass, then back to Sacto. The weather was absolutely fantastic (especially considering those passes had been closed due to snow just the previous week). I'll attach some pics here (hope they come thru OK...):

"panorama" is the view from Glacier point looking towards Half Dome (stitched together via PhotoShop from multiple photos-I hope it looks reasonable when reduced in size for posting)

3477 is on Tioga Road west of the pass itself

3491 is on Hwy 89 between Hwy 395 and Monitor Pass

3522 is on Hwy 88 west of Kirkwood, looking at a place called "Devil's Garden" (that's Pyramid Peak in the background)

Trip meter read 538 miles at the end. A nice ride before the weather turns to winter. I hope you find the pictures worth looking at. I love the Sierras!

Sorry folks, the pictures showed in the preview when I first wrote up my post, but evidently didn't make it through to the server. And when I try to submit them in a second post, I get a timed out/disconnect message.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

How big are they.. always helps to re size them to around 800x800 for web viewing.
 
Are your jpg pictures less than 488kb and less than 2000x2000 pixels?

When you select the files from your pc.. you need to click the upload. If that helps.
 
Yup, after I click upload the progress bar slowly makes it to halfway, then sits there for a few minutes before I get the disconnect message. I've tried both Firefox and IE.

I'll wait a few more minutes and then try again.
 
You got me on that one... Try going into your album area, click the camera in your post, and try uploading there to see if it does the same thing.

(FOR JOE: I had to put my router into DMZ mode before the pictures would upload. Weird...)

Next time stop by and say hi if you got the time. Good pics there. I think the picture of Tenya and Hidden lake is one of my favorite views in the park.
Glad you had a good ride I've been stuck doing inventory the last few days........but maybe one day I can enjoy the last few riding days around here. Work in paradise still = WORK
 
Live next the concessions stables by north pines campground any employees in the that area should know me. Or I run the concessions warehouse at the moment it's on the back side of the vistors center in the valley. Just pm me and let me know when your coming.I'll see if the boss will let me out to play.
