Does that work?
It would definitely charge the car, but it appears to be a rather small generator for the task so it may not provide many miles.
And of course, the car would need even more juice than usual towing a trailer.
It's probably more of a joke since they wanted to transport the generator anyway.

Twas the French Revolution, and 3 men were tried, convicted, and sentenced to the Guillotine
The first was a Priest. As he was brought up, they asked if he had last thing to say.
He asked to be couldn't put on the guillotine facing upwards so he could see God.
They agreed, bound him, and lay Him face up on the guillotine. They released the blade which swiftly dropped down and stopped by inches from his neck.
The guards look at each other and said "it's the Will of God" and they release him and the priest walked away.
Next was a drunk. They asked him if he had anything to say, and he requested to be faced up also, because "maybe God would confuse him with the priest"
He was bound up, laid down and the blade released again. It stopped just shy of his neck.
The guards looked at each other and gasped "Again the Will of God" and they released him.
The third man was brought up he was an Engineer. They asked him if he had anything to say and he said "I'd Like to be face up as well. Maybe it's a trend.!"
He also was bound up, laid face up on the guillotine. Just before they released the blade, the engineer said "Oh I see your problem!"
