Gonna have to put a new pair of shoes on the 1300 before heading out to TentSToc. I have almost 12K miles on the 020's, the back is well into the wear bars, but not "bald" yet. The front is still in pretty good shape. This set wore a little quicker than my 020's "normally" do (usually get around 14K out of a set with pretty even wear, front/back). I'm gonna say that the heat, chipseal, and higher than normal cruising speeds (a fair number of miles at, above, or very near triple digits (Ahhhh, Nevada)) probably contributed to their wear. It was strange that the rear wore out quicker than the front though.. Might have used a bit more compression breaking on this set of tires..
Since "most" of my vacation miles (and local) are pretty much flat and straight, I do get a set of tires to last a fair amount of time...
Talked to Two Brothers, and ordered a set of the 021's to try.
They should be here tomorrow . Local Stealer wanted 400+ bucks for
a set of tires and mounting... I told them I wanted them to mount the tires on the bike, I didn't want them to mount me... Found a dealer in Muscatine Ia (20 miles from here) (Hatfield Motor Sports) that will mount them (on the bike) for 70 bucks... Gonna go with them.. I guess I will satisfy my curiosity as to how well the 021's work for me..
Putt...
