1/2 saddle sore , saddle semi sore?

Why do you need all daylight?

Not being combative, just curious.
I don't really. I prefer doing one with as much daylight as possible. A lot of deer around here roaming around in the dark, especially this time of the year. Warmer weather would be nice too seeing how it's been dropping down to the 30's at night.

I just talked to a friend about postponing a SS1000 he was planning because of deer and the lack of daylight. if he does it next spring i'll take my ST 1100 and ride along with him

"Different strokes", as they say. I prefer much cooler weather for an SS1000, as warmer weather makes me sleepy.

Cooler weather would be nice. I took a trip to Houston on Columbus day weekend a few years back. It was 37 degrees and raining when I left here. On the way home I ran into snow just north of Scranton Pa. That was a great trip. The farthest I ever drove in one day was from just west of Effingham Illinois to home @975 miles. It was in July and almost 100 degrees. Didn't plan on driving all the way that day but I was too cheap to pay for a motel 3 hours from home. I ride my bike to work most days from April until they salt the roads (usually November). I leave at 04:00 and it's still dark so I have a lot of experience riding in dark. Accidents are caused by an interaction of factors. I want to eliminate as many factors as possible on my first ss1000 to help make it a positive experience.

I had a change of plans. I decided to check out the motorcycle museum in Newburg NY. My brother and another friend joined me as well. We spent @ 1 1/2 - 2 hrs in the museum. We also stayed on more back roads than I had planned. Didn't go 500 miles but was driving from 08:00 until 8:30 at night. Had some really good curried chicken and rice at a small deli and a great ride.
