This is the bike that I owned before I switched to the ST world- a 1992 Shadow. I bought it used in 1995 and kept it after I bought my first ST1100 way back 16 years ago. I only ceased to be the owner of it last year when I gave it to my brother-in-law. I think that this is a terrific bike. It did every thing that I needed for a long time and for many miles. The write-up says that it wasn't designed for long trips and could be comfortably ridden for a 100 miles at a stretch. Hell- I literally went all over North America on this thing. I have been to the Grand Canyon and California- from Montreal- on it a couple of times. I have done about 270, 000 KM (168, 000 miles) on this bike and have no complaints about it other than on a long trip the fuel range can keep you attentive. It has a small tank for touring so it is a good thing that it always delivered an amazing 60 or so MPG. I did most of that mileage in about a ten year period. In true Honda dependability fashion it never faltered. Other than routine maintenance items in all those years and miles it suffered one fork seal leak, once clutch push shaft seal leak, the front wheel bearings had to be changed twice and the speedometer cable broke and had to be replaced twice- I wore them out I guess! I never even needed to change one single light bulb in all that mileage.
In case anyone is interested I have scanned and attached this card about what was a great bike for me.
Enjoy!
