Hi, My starter switch does not work and we cannot find replacement as they no longer make them. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix or replace. Part number is 35013-MAJ-A32. Thank you.
Yes that website worked. I ordered a new one. I had ordered a new one from Bike Bandit, then they went bankrupt and kept my Money. Hope this one comes through. Thank you for the advice.
lol, they just emailed me saying it was not. Returning my money. SheeshWondering if you called them to ensure the part was actually in stock?
Not surprised - I have encountered that a lot over the past few years and is the reason for post #10.lol, they just emailed me saying it was not. Returning my money. Sheesh
In the last days of owning the ST1100 I occasionally had to give the bike a slap on the Tupperware that covered the battery. First few times I took the cover off to find that it cranked with out doing anything else then I just caused a little vibration and it would crank.starter solenoid that went bad. It was infrequent, then got progressively worse.
According to the parts fiches, P/N 35013-MAJ-A32 is unique to ST1100 1995-2002 and ST1100 ABS 1996-2002.Wonder if this part was only on the ST1100? Honda will often use the same part on lots of bikes might be able to retro fit one off a Shadow or some other model.
An excellent caveat. When looking for some discontinued parts for my ST there were myriad sites showing what I wanted and allowed me to place an order and they took my money. A day or two later I got an email stating the part/parts was/were discontinued and the money they took instantly would be refunded in a few day — please allow up to ten... etc.You may find this part from this source
Have you tried spraying electrical contact cleaner in it?
Is the kill switch part or the 'start button' that does not work?
I don't buy parts until I do an electrical troubleshoot.
Have you tried David Silver Spares? They have many out of production parts.
