2006 ST1300 with 15K miles question...

Re: 2008 ST1300 with 15K miles question...

Personally, I would hold out for an ABS model that comes from a known source or a member of this forum. There are some nice ones listed.

+1 on waiting for an ABS model.

John is right, the 08,09 models were red.
My 2009 model is black, the sparkly metallic black. While I've seen other black ST1300's, Ive not seen another "sparkly" black one, so not sure if I am special ;-)

I wasn't thinking of Canada models when I posted. lol

At 15k at the least the rear tire would have been changed ask him when they were done as well as fluids. Might want to pull the covers off the master cylinders and see if there's any gunk in there. Fluids are all due (easy enough to diy). Ask about fuel stabalizer if none the gage is over 2 bars of fuel and it starts right up I wouldn't worry about it. Dump some techron seafoam etc in top it off with fresh fuel. Check the windshield and headlight adjust with the engine off for signs of mech binding or the head light hunting for position. Does it start right up without a clock or odo reset if it does a new battery is in your near future. 6500 seems a little high. Let it warm up to 3 bars and wait to make sure the fans cycle. ABS if it's a must have means walk. Adding it isn't $ reasonable. 1.5k a year sounds fairly typical for a fair weather rider garage kept queen that needs to be broken it.

I am happy to report that I actually have found another St1300. I pick it up Sunday. It is an '06 model with 5800 miles on it. All the fluids are clear and not rust in the tank. I plan to change the fluids anyway for good measure and a new set if tires. I really don't think I want to ride a lot on 10 year old tire. Paid $6k for it.

Couldn't tell from the photo if it has the ABS tone ring - does it have ABS?
Looks like a good find at a reasonable price.

Looks like a ABS ring to me.
I picked up a 06 in 2012 with 49k for 3800, no ABS, but both wind deflector kits, Hyperpro shock, gell seat, bag liners, and two power outlets.
Great engine.
