On the road on our way (friends and I) trip to Canada (August 2007), just because we could. Bike has been to all lower 48 states and three Canadian Provinces.

Well, it is beginning to look like I may have to do something else with this bike. I have had no offers or any interest. And I did reduce the price.

I understand your frustration. It's a fantastic bike and your price is low if anything. I had the same problem with mine at only 103k. I finally decided it was worth more to me as part time/backup than I could sell it for. My (completely pulled out of thin air) guess is that all the guys who realize what a great deal that is either already have their own or are aging out of that size bike as well. It's hard to convince someone that doesn't know the bike that over 100k isn't a big deal on a well maintained one.

I hear you guys, but I'm finding ST1300's on Facebook with half the miles for the same money or less. Also in very good condition. Not dogging your ad or anything, just putting it out there that prices have been dropping on these bikes. It's a buyers market right now, at least for STs.

Not trying to not you down on this but feel you are asking for the feedback with your post. This came up a few weeks ago with another member looking to sell a ST. At that time I did a quick search on FB marketplace with the following results:

I found the following ST's within 250 miles of me:
2003 w/ 88k miles for $3,000
2005 w/ 31k miles for $3,900
2005 w/ 16k miles for $4,000
2004 w/ 38k miles for $3,000
2004 w/ 56k miles for $3,400
2004 w/ 58k miles for $3,000
2007 w/ 73k miles for $3,395

Just my opinion, with your bike you are at the point that you either keep it and ride it or drop the price really low and "give it away" if you just want it out of the garage. They are great bikes but have a niche buyer and buyers are going to opt for the a lower mileage bike at your asking price. If I were in your shoes I'd put the value of your bike around $1,500 (I'd pull the Corbin seat and Garmin and sell separately). As a buyer, anything more than that then I'm just going to put another grand with it and buy something with half the miles.

A friend of mine who has owned multiple ST 1300s over the last 20 years, sold one of his that had been wrecked and fixed very well but it still had a salvage title for only $1500 last week. He sold it when it hit 108,000 miles and he got it (damaged) when it was around 15,000 miles. It worked perfectly and I have ridden with him as he used that bike.

Thanks for the feedback and the information. I am exploring other "things" that are possible. One is giving it as a gift by my Grandson. He has not directly expressed an interest in motorcycles, but I have never discussed it with him. We shall see.

As far as a $1,500 price, that would be a last resort. But, I am always open to new thoughts.

One of the reasons for selling this bike is I am going to transition to a "Trike". I will "Trike" my 2015 Goldwing in the coming months. I have a 2003 Honda Valkyrie Standard that I was intending to keep simply because, if I want to ride on two wheels with my wife, she likes the Valkyrie better than the ST1300. Oh, and she does like the Trike I will getting in a few months. It's a CSC Viper conversion for the "wing".

Again, all comments are appreciated. Information is always nice to have.

"giving it as a gift by my Grandson"
ST is not a good bike for a first bike.
Give it month or six weeks when riding season is in full swing. Be more bike fever as the weather warms.
$3000+ for a really good bike will sound pretty good to someone then.

I wouldn't do it. It's too big for a first time owner. In fact, I turned away a buyer last week that doesn't have any experience on two wheels.

I vote give it to your grandson. I expect a thank you card from him (assuming he wants it) since everyone else here wants to talk you out of it 😂

IIRC, it took me 3 or 4 months to sell my 2010 1300 some years ago. You are getting antsy after 5 weeks. I'd say you should wait a couple of months, minimum, and advertise in several places.

Thanks for the feedback above. I had not thought about the bike not being good for a novice. It is something that I did consider when I was shopping for my next bike back then.

Waiting is OK too.

First of all maybe the grandkid is 6 foot 5 and 250 lbs....on the other hand its a 20 year old motorcycle with a potentially iff y ecu with a lot of miles which makes sense being 20 years old....I'm guessing whatever he gets is a bonus...he used up alll the joy and adventure....just saing.......FF
