I'm looking at this bike, 14k miles, second owner. He has a k1600B and an R nine something. The price is good, I took it for a short ride and the right peg buzzed like it was electrified at higher RPMs, left peg was inert. Bike seems to have oil residue on the heads, she pulls strong and shifted smooth, anything I should be looking for?

Any input is appreciated, thank you.

Why is the prior owner selling? Not much mileage to be certain. I rented one several years ago in Colorado and they are very fast (and scary the first time you crack the throttle). I really enjoyed using it.

Cracking that throttle put a smile from ear to ear. He has three now, he can say anything, but I’m going with only two fit in the garage and he is selling the oldest.

...and you have just one in the garage....

I think there was a recall for a transmission repair or replacement but wouldn't be a deal breaker. BMW takes care of stuff like that.

My friend had a 2012 IIRC and the bike was very smooth and of course very powerful. The feel and sound of that 6 cylinder motor at 5000 rpm in 3rd just begged for another 3 or 4,000 rpm but 5,000 in 3rd was a little over 100 mph IIRC. I would be afraid of losing my license. I'm more of a 100ish horsepower kind of guy. I had/have bikes I can run out the gears through 3rd and hope to regain my senses before entering the go-to-jail zone. I'm sure you have more discipline than I do.

Can't speak to this specific bike, but I was very intrigued by a Revzilla racetrack shootout between a late-model GoldWing and the K1600, it was Eri and Zack as I recall... very entertaining on YouTube and at the end they each rode pillion with each other around the track.
Aggressively.
Well, can't copy the url on the phone... and it seems to be the guys in 2018, maybe before they were picked up by Revzilla... this is when they were at Motorcyclist magazine, but you can Google "Revzilla goldwing and k1600 shootout on racetrack youtube" and you'll find it.
Only 27 minutes of your life to watch it, but for amusing and scary racetrack riding on huge bikes, these guys are tops.
And hey... nothing but motorcycle content, so how can you go wrong?
